People might disagree with that, but Pavel played during an era that allowed a lot of hooking, holding and mugging. If Pavel played in today's game, he would be even better than he was back in the 90s. Aye just imagine him without being targeted, hooked and slashed... Thing is, even though they didn't get a cup with Bure on the team, this is still what folks are talking about.... Entertainment and excitement... nothing beats the wow factor....

A bit odd yeah. I think he was a winger to start, but unless I'm mistaken, the vast majority of his career was as a centre, so it's weird not to call him a primary centre. CRAZY_4_NAZZY
Team is going through a slump, but cannot understate how this team needs Pettersson to find some level of consistency in his game. His engagement and overall effectiveness in all three zones waivers game to game which can't happen if he is your number one center. I really hope he finds his way out his slump because we aren't going anywhere or doing anything meaningful come playoff time if he isn't at the top of his game. We rely heavily on him to be a two way difference on the ice. He hasn't been up to snuff since the all star break. But then again that goes for the whole team too. fanfor42
Daniel and Henrik born Sept 1980 Pettersson born Nov 1998 All 3 entered the NHL at age 20. First 6 years in the league Henrik 400games 62 g 159a 221pts First 6 years in the league Daniel 397games 83g 139a 222 pts First 6 years in the league Pettersson 394games 169g 236a 405 pts - Note Daniel and Henrik sat out the 04/05 season due to lock out. - Pettersson played only 26 games in 20/21 due to injury and shortened covid season. Petey's stats are dramatically better than the Sedins over their first 6 years. After that the Sedins numbers improved in their next 6 years, but were still not as good as Petey's first 6 years. If Pettersson continues to improve for the next 5 or 6 years (which is likely), he is going to continue to be way ahead of the point totals put up by the Sedins. Just thought it's worth keeping this in mind... 1

Their top years were both over 110+ point paces and obviously, Henrik hit 112 points.
CaptainQuin
I’d bet Petterson breaks 112 pts once or twice in his career

Just thought it's worth keeping this in mind... As @-AJ- mentioned, scoring was considerable lower during those first 4 years in particular for the Sedins. Also gotta consider how each of these players were deployed. When the Sedins entered the league, they were playing very limited minutes, and even more so offensively. Henrik, as a centre, averaged less than 14min a night... dipping as low as 12.5min. Daniel was regularly under 13min a night. This was the WCE era where Nazzy, Bertuzzi, and Morrison played over 20min a night and had ALL of the offensive minutes. Petey, on the other hand, entered the league on a Canucks team that featured our 1C of a 60 point Horvat, and our top winger a sub-60 point Boeser. Petey played over 18 minutes a night from the get go (only a couple minutes less than what Nazzy and Bertuzzi played in their prime). That's 6 to 7min more per game than the Sedins in their first 6 years. Doesn't mean what Petey has done isn't impressive, it just means that the gap presented is probably much closer if the timelines and situations were reversed (NHL goal scoring, deployment, team structure, etc).
