Make Champions League. Sell their best players. Football is so ass backwards it's a little boring. Except for the owners pocket I guess. 😅

And in other soccer news, Jose Mourinho and Fenerbahce have been bounced from the Champions League.

“We lose economically because the Champions League obviously is an important boost to the club and we lose the chance to play against the biggest teams in the world,” Mourinho said. “But we would never win the Champions League. We would never reach the Champions League final. Never.”

(From the sounds of things, he's quite happy to go into the Europa League.)

And in legal news:

Premier League chief Richard Masters says it’s ‘time’ for Manchester City case to be heard

“It’s been going on for a number of years and I think it’s self-evident that the case needs to be heard and answered,” he said. “It is time now for the case to resolve itself.”

Manchester United 1 Fulham 0 FT

Too bad, really.  I was hoping Fulham was going to get away with a draw, at least.  Nice game by Leno.  United has a young star in Zirkzee maybe?

Also, Valencia / Barcelona noon PT on ABC.

But more importantly, Arsenal / Wolverhampton at 7am PT on FUBO!

Is it too soon to say this is a must win game?  Yes.  But Man City is such a good team that any challenger has very few opportunities to screw up.  City only lost 3 games (!) last season and drew 7.  If they repeat that kind of performance this season, almost every game Arsenal plays is a must win game.   No pressure.

Not a particularly entertaining game, IMO.  But Arsenal won, their two main scorers, Havertz and Saka, scored and Raya got the shutout.  So, yes, a great start.

Now, if Chelsea can just pull off an upset tomorrow.....

The Mallorca/Real Madrid game starts in a few minutes on TSN - 12:30.

TSN is picking up the ESPN feed.  Apparently, ESPN has a second feed - the Mbappe Cam - that will focus on Mbappe throughout the game.   :classic_biggrin:
