UnkNuk
Mallorca 1 Real Madrid 1 Mallorca clearly didn't read the script. RM was expected to come in with Mbappe maybe scoring a couple in a opening victory. Instead, Mallorca put up a feisty fight and could have won the game. And that's why they play 'em. A very entertaining game. With the added bonus of an substitute appearance for Mallorca of CMNT member Cyle Laurin. Didn't realize he played for them.

UnkNuk
Aston Villa 0 Arsenal 2 A start and stop first half followed by a pretty good second half that saw Trossard and Partey score. A second consecutive shutout for Raya. Good that Man U lost but Haaland (who else?) scores a hat trick in Man City's 4-1 win over Ipswich.

UnkNuk
Real Madrid 3 Real Valladolid 0 Weird game. From an entertainment point of view the first half was dreadful. RV just stacked 10 men in front of the box and RM couldn't break through. Luckily, RM scored early in the second half and RV had to open up, creating space and scoring chances. Thing is, it wasn't the big stars that scored. Mbappe, Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo were subbed off late in the game and two young guys who were subbed in scored to put the game away.

UnkNuk
The EPL season is 38 games long which means a team could get a maximum of 114 points in the season. Over the past five EPL seasons, it's taken an average of about 92 points to finish in first place. (First place points range from 86 points to 99 points over those five seasons). So a team with first place aspirations can only lose around 22 points per season. So Arsenal lost two of those points with their draw against Brighton on Saturday.
