Washington is doing us a favor, hopefully they can bring this one home. We can return the favor by absolutely crushing them tomorrow to make up for losing to Boston.

Can’t see the Canucks crushing the Caps.

It's two games and they were jobbed on this one. Carolina, Boston and Detroit isn't an easy stretch of games and it's 1-1-1. Meh. You're so dramatic..

No doubt hey. Talk about over-dramatic and unrealistic. We've played 3 really good teams and we're at .500 and their world is crumbling down around them.

Canucks lose to Boston 4-0, Boston loses to Washington 3-0, Washington for the cup? Or, more likely, good teams can lose to both good teams and bad teams depending on the game.

Bruins are 1-2 after the break.

Yeah but they do have to stop playing scared and fix the defensive holes on their powerplay.

Ummm, he let his man go on a clear breakaway and two-hand cross checked him in the back as he went to shoot. Why wouldn't it be a penalty?

Because he pushed off and didn't extend and then make contact. He was right up against him and pushed his back. That's not a crosscheck. Force, distance and severity matter. There's literally hundreds of those shoves in a single game. Not one of them was called tonight.

One thing we've been consistently good at is beating up bad teams.  Rarely do we give up points against bad teams, and that's a big plus.  The concern is our record against some of the best teams.  I would like for us to execute our systems and plays better against the best teams.

Right?

The dangers of reading too much into individual wins and losses.

Boston just straight out lost - in a shutout too 3-0, so we stay in 1st by a sissy point!   Phew!!

They were Boooed off the ice by their mean-creepy fans.

Yeah but there's something about Boston that's our achilles heal, just pray someone knocks them out of the playoffs before we might have to play them, if were lucky to get that far?

It's a pretty textbook crosscheck.  Did Walman go down easy?  Maybe, but the referee can't just not call that.  What I would've liked to see is just some more consistent reffing across the entire game.

Vancouver’s Nikita Zadorov will have a hearing this evening for an illegal check to the head on Detroit’s Lucas Raymond.

I am in no way advocating for head hunting or wishing harm on anybody. But younger players are skating through the neutral ice with their heads down without impunity. We’ve seen it with Bedard, Raymond, Slafkovsky, J. Hughes and plenty of other young guys. The skill and stick handling is marvellous to watch, but you just can’t put your head down and expect no contact.

who knows, I’m probably way off base here but that’s just how I feel.

At this point Boston has a reputation for being playoff chokers.

Vancouver, on the other hand... we have an entirely unproven reputation.  There are no expectations for us because nobody knows what'll happen.
