steviewonder20
I just hope they keep the 2024 1st round pick as we don’t have a 2nd round pick in 2024. Prospect pipeline has improved from abysmal (bottom 5) to mediocre (middle of the pack at best) and we need more premium assets (especially centres). And I'm thinking who are you trying to move? And MORE importantly, who has the cap space and is any trade protection involved? Getting under the cap should be interesting. Is it even legal to sign a contract knowing you're going to LITR right off the bat and recovering from surgery? That would mean that teams can't sign injured players until they're ready to play. I don't think that's in the rules.

RWMc1
We have numerous options to get under the cap without making a trade. We are not over a barrel.

Jeremy Hronek
Myers being traded with a sweetener would make the most sense for the Canucks given what they are trying to accomplish (i.e. being a competitive right now + polishing Pettersson's nutsack in order to keep him happy). Use Myers' cap space to bring in a top 4 d-man. I know many fans are down on Garland but I think he'll do well for us this year under Tocchet.

I guess you'd have to clear the room to bring him back though in any case. I would prefer they don't sign Bear anyway. His defence is weak. wai_lai416
the canucks need to move a winger before the season start. let's assume pearson is ready and mikehyev comes off the ir.. they are probably going to lose hoglander to waivers unless we keep him on the team? WSAcanuck
I swear I’ve heard it for like 2 years that the Canucks are aggressively trying to make a trade to clear cap but still haven’t managed to. It’s not aggressive at this point, it’s more like narcoleptic. 1
