6pts in 13 games...ignores the 82 previous games. I guess that's cherry-picking...so it must be inconsequential.

Leading up tp the the ASG he was on course for another 100+point season....  Talk about cherry picking...

So I guess Mark Stone is useless as well, as he only had 3 goals during the play offs after less than a point per game during the regular season?

And what about Jack Eichel.... he has had 3 positive +/- seasons with Vegas and prior to that only 1 + season in Buffalo.. He is barely a point per game player and gets paid $10M...

Petey has never had a negative +/- season, and even during a "poor" season Petey is still above 1 point per game pace

You are so far out to lunch its unreal...

Talk about cheery picking and goes on to say "19 points came in the first 10 games. 12 came in a 4 game stretch in January."..

I’m not sure how many times I have to say this over the years but here it comes again.

Petey would have alot more points if Miller didn’t take up the first spot of the team.

The first spot that means better chances on PP etc.

That is a fact wich we can prove if we analyze every single point by Miller and Petey during the seasons together.

Miller is damn good but he is not an Alien(this is not a dig on Miller for those who takes discussions as offensive attacks against themselves).

It led Petey to elevate his game the season before so he was one of the best 5v5.

So normally people would talk about how cheap Petey is for 8 years…

First spot on the PP?  That's goofy.   QHs to Miller to EP it's non-stop, if it goes in, rarely does EP miss out on a point!

This isn't objective at all.   Millers line was tasked all season, going head to head against the best lines in the world.   Tochett played them head to head against the McKinnon, McDavids, Crosby, Kucherov etc' of the league.   Go check out their plus minus!   They were one of the leagues best lines all season.   EPs line was sheltered.   Prior to the season, Brock was an anchor!   That's the dialogue and the amount of people who gave up on him on this site was shocking.

Now EPs supposed to play with Brock?    Let's be real.    EP struggled with Kuzmenko, and Kuzmenko struggled with back checking.   So he was traded.    Get that he didn't have much to work with.     Saying he should be the first line is ridiculous.   That occurs by producing.   Other players would have been taken off the first unit power play for not scoring goals.   He never was taken off.    Scored a couple PP goals in a couple months.    Sure Garland or Joshua or Lindholm could have got their shot but rarely did, and don't re-call one instance, since EPs rookie season, that he's played second PP.   Not one.    One time, I do re-call him getting put on the 3rd line with Hogs and Podz to shake him out of a funk.    EPs had a history of hot and cold.

Objectively, EPs play nosedived.   Breaking up Miller and Brock makes zero sense.   Millers been the most consistent player since he arrived.    One really bad start under Bruce.    That's it.   EP needs to be ready for when it's his turn.    He's now been paid like he's the best player on the team.    And that's a contract he wanted and signed.

Edit:  EP does need his pair.   Lindholm would be just fine.  Move EP to the wing so he doesn't have to take faceoffs, reducing stress on his wrist and his body.    Or take a run at Guentzal.   No more middle six experiments.   With EP and Miller in his prime, the time is now to both take advantage of that (like Malkin and Crosby).   Will need to sacrifice some depth, that was always coming anyways,  and will continue to occur as these guys get their legacy deals.   EP signed the deal.   He's stating he's a top five center.    Needs to do that now/next,  and think things will be awfully hard for him without a wingman.

Petey is part of the team.   Not the most important part so far, but that's ok, his turn will come.   Only get my back up, because first it was Miller versus Horvat and good god, who wouldn't love to have Miller on their team, especially at either of his current or last contract.   At least management was smart enough to not let him get to free agency.

Funny thing is, Miller's 99 point season didn't matter who was playing with him, they got a big bump.   Now he is a 100 point player, and did it, facing the best of the best all season at home!  From the very first game, it's what he was tasked to do.   Unlike the Sedins, his line doesn't start 72-73% of the time in the o-zone either.   Millers line, was one of the best lines in the league last season.

Seravalli claims Canucks unaware of EP knee problems or at least not a serious detriment.  So it begs the question that why wasn’t EP given some maintenance days or put on IR in the regular season.

It's not really a claim. Tocchet mentioned they felt Petey was fine and didn't require rest. The whole situation looks weird cause Petey brought it up and now people think it was a serious injury. Which they are right to think, since he absolutely stunk after January, which he said was when he hurt his knee. So if the treatment for his knee is rest, and they knew it was bothering him but didn't rest him, makes management/coaching staff look bad. Just a weird situation all around. Petey I don't think was using it as an excuse, cause shortly after saying his knee was bothering him he flatly said he was playing bad. A good amount of players in April and beyond are playing hurt. He was no exception.
