[GDT] Around the NHL [March 2024]

Recommended Posts

As I calmly place Canuck events into perspective, it is informative to observe some of the results tonight for upper echelon Stanley Cup favorites New York Rags and Dallas Stars. Dallas, in particular, were whipped at home tonight, and the Rangers were pumped for 4 straight goals in the third.

Not an easy league, this NHL.

And it's March. Tcchet was right.  It gets harder at this time of the season.  Everyone has something to play for.

Nux 4-0-1 in Mar so far.  Need to forget about last game and win the next.  Caps are fighting for playoff lives now, and so is Kraken.  Now only 1 pt behind Isles for WC2.

The Sabres are actually knocking on the door of a playoff spot... 😱

Byram has so far turned out to be a very good trade.

I'm now taking bets on how long it will take until the Sabres start ripping my heart out again...  The over/under is 1 week.  😂

You should be very grateful to Detroit

They are, which is weird to see, Detroit's really been shitting the bed though

Lot of competition for those last three eastern spots

Less so out west, Minnesota's climbed back into the picture and St. Louis is still hanging around, hard to see Vegas not picking up steam over the last stretch though

LA could fall out but I'm not expecting them to

Nashville and Edmonton have probably built enough cushion not to worry too much

I'm 2-3 degrees separated from Adams. Putting in a good word to get Granato canned for ya :classic_wink:

Faber being there as a rookie is nuts

Drew still leading the pack at 34 is also nuts

r/hockey - Time on ice leaders this season

Surprised Hughes isn’t up there. Feels like he plays every other shift

Faber is definitely a dark horse for the Calder. Averaging over 25min/game total TOI and over 3min/game on the PK plus is on pace for 46 points. Bedard likely still wins it but maybe not as much of a lock due to the games he missed because of injury.

I'm more impressed by Faber, it's much harder to step in as a D

Minny could be a wagon once that dead cap expires depending on how they spend it

No doubt.  They got worse at the same time the Sabres got better.  Perfect timing.  Although these words could come back to bite me considering the Sabres play them 13 hours from now.

happy for him.

Glad we have DeSmith though

Shows that our scouting and namely Ian Clark are good at identifying goalie talent.

Means we shouldn’t have to overspend on backups which will help a lot.
