[GDT] Around the NHL [March 2024]

Recommended Posts

Ugly defending by Scheifele in OT there.

Should ended it on the PP in regular time, although it was a BS call, with the Jet getting high sticked by his own player.

Does it really matter at this point?

Theres gonna be jockeying right down to the final day.

Every pt will matter since this race will be so tight to the end.

That game Nux vs Oils and then #82 vs Jets will likely mean something.

Whether we’re in first in the division or second it doesn’t really matter.

Either way we could face LA or Vegas.

Oilers are scary in playoffs.  Flawed, but still scary.

No 3 on 3 in playoffs and a lot less space for McDavid to wind up and enter the zone.

The Kings would neuter that team pretty quick I think.

You mean the Kings that got turfed by Edmonton in the first round the past two seasons?  That Kings team?

Oilers right back up there. IMO; They'll die out in the playoffs.

Anyone viewing the Oilers as a legit threat is hilarious at this point, we’ve seen this movie defense and goaltending are nowhere near good enough. They will flame out again offence might win a round or 2 but that’s it.

I think they beat the kings two years in a row in the playoffs. Maybe third time the charm for the Kings or Oilers are going deep.

They’re better this year.

Don’t count on what happened in the past.

You could say the same thing about the Oilers team under Kris Knoblauch.  They are a far more cohesive unit defensively.

Two teams who fired their coaches mid-year.  Two teams who have turned it around since.  Your talk about McDavid and 3v3 doesn't mean much when they've already won 14 playoff games in the past two years.

I don’t think they are better if anything I think their goaltending is even worse
