On the other hand, a 3rd is less "valuable" than a 2nd, and a functional backup goalie is better than a 7th dman.

Take the miniscule wins and "improvement" where they come, I guess.

My initial reaction is I love this deal. Ballsy. This is a big move to trade Pearson as soon as you activate him. Is it a betrayal on Pearson, a message to Pearson, or just strictly a business move? Maybe a little of everything. Regardless, This is a solid, ballsy trade. We'll done, PA.

Sad to see tanner go, I liked him but at least he's gone to a team we only play twice a year.

Hughes told him when he was acquired that he'd make every effort to move him to another team.  Montreal is set with Montembeault/Allen as thier starting tandem

Value wise the trade is lackluster, but we did make the team better with this trade. If Demko goes down I'd feel a lot more comfortable with Desmith between the pipes.

Unfortunately we were not dealing from a position of power and it sucks to have to throw in a 3rd. Still, this was a decent trade considering the circumstances.

Guess Tolopilo is going to ECHL. 
Not the winger I would have chosen to move, we get smaller and softer up front but when backed into a cap corner you have to do something. 
He got Montreal a third now and probably another at the deadline.
