Iron Fist
Question: Describe the Canucks as best as you can There's nothing we hate more than draft picks during a rebuild, hate them more than having cap space during a rebuild. Bobby James
I think this trade was fine. Sucks to give up another pick, but we are safe with the cap now (I think after Poolman we have about 500K space) and that means we should not have to waive any young valuable player. DeSmith seems like a decent backup which is good for us. Silvos runs the net in Abby all year with Martin backing him up and likely being first call up for Van in case of injuries.

qwijjibo
Montreal could end up losing guys like Ylonen or Pezzetta to waivers claims now. Hopefully Hughes has another move lined up
Hogs and Podz
I'm wondering if this may be the end of trading picks to be cap compliant? All the remaining forwards we have, have value on the trade market? Maybe get picks back if we trade? 1 1

I did not think it was possible for the new group to improve with being capped out and shortage of assets, but they have somehow improved the farm and the Big team in 1 year after 8 yrs of it being beat down It is refreshing to see trades not damaging our team wow, no more semi-colons? finding that L key truly signifies the end of an era. 4 1

If he needs to call it a career, then there would likely be lost future earnings involved. You can't get pain and suffering in Canada, and he plays a contact sport that he is compensated very well for, I think any court in Canada would throw it out if he was looking for loss of future earnings as they are all 1 game away from their last game. Devron
Is what it is kinda trade. Although I’m still not clear on how we’ll be cap compliant

We can move DeSmith at the deadline if Silovs is ready or just not re-sign DeSmith in the off season. Great move imo. FORGET THE TRADE! CANUCKS FANS (Mostly myself) NEED TO KNOW IF THE BUNNIE STILL HAS CARUT AND IF IT MADE IT TO THE NEW FORUM. Sorry for yelling, I just thought it was strange seeing your name without this. Even gives us a whopping 500k of space! Lol They added a category that factors in LTIR candidates. I for one have found this wildly helpful.
WHL rocks
This will be good for both sides. Tanner goes to a bottom 5 team and gets to play higher up in the lineup in a contract year. Canucks get a back up goalie and get cap compliant.

tas
I wonder if this trade will grease the wheels on myers at all. it potentially changes the leverage a bit with teams playing hardball, knowing the canucks will be compliant one way or the other and don't NEED to make the trade. 1
