Déjà Vu
1 hour ago, Jaimito said: to be honest, this playoff is more for the experience than actually having a chance to win it, its the fans who went over board and felt we would, if we get lucky and win some sweet, but with petey locked in for 8 years, management, can take the foot off the pedal and focus on making a winner in a year or two, instead of spending all assets this trade deadline 1
Popular Post PlatinumIce
As I sit back and think about the trade deadline and the Canucks cap situation. I am actually feeling fine doing nothing due to the earlier trades completed. Now to enjoy the ride for the next few years to make up for the shitty years before. 1 5

He’s pretty much a Hack Rathbone level of player. I agree there was no way he puts up those numbers in the A. But he still "could" have been better than Rathbone maybe? Maybe that's peoples argument? But hell Rathbone couldn't crack our line up when our D was terrible. So. No big loss there at all. Gotta side with you there Alf. Vanux
I was thinking about who on our roster would be someone who would elevate their game on the playoffs.....I started with Miller..... By the time I finished listing everyone, I realized that we have several key players that will. I think the best of this management's results is yet to be seen 1 1
Popular Post Rip The Mesh
I'm totally cool with the Canucks doin nothin! Alvin said they thought about a few things but nothing was logical or came with an insane price thus tearing apart the present. TBH? I'm glad we're not rocking the boat. Playoffs baby! 3 1
Popular Post Dom
Posted in another thread, but felt it could go here too. The only thing I wish we could have added is a RW for EP40. With that being said, I am going to write my thoughts here. This may be a little bit of a read, but hey that's what the forum is for. This took me A LOT of time to think about, and put on ' paper '. A huge difference from my normal ' bandwagon ' takes that most of you love I do think this team can go on a run, especially if a few things come to fruition. 1. Ilya Mikheyev. I have been a huge doubter of this man, I'll be the first to admit that. However, his last 2 games have been fantastic, and if he can find his scoring touch, the line of Mik-Miller-Boeser is going to be a nightmare for teams to deal with. Not only could they be an offensive threat, but also a defensive threat. Mikheyev has unreal defensive capabilities, along with Miller. 2. Lindholm finds his offensive touch - with Joshua set to comeback within 2 weeks time, the line of Joshua-Lindholm-Garland could be unstoppable. Joshua & Garland have shown chemistry that is godlike, and if Lindholm can set them up, watch out!! This line can also be DOMINANT defensively!!! Lindholm a former selke nominee, and Joshua showing this year that he is a defensive beast as well! 3. The powerplay. We have 21 days at home, with LOTS of time to practice. If this powerplay gets going, this team will be very very hard to beat, and they have shown that they already are, when they play their game. 4. Podkolzin. If Podkolzin can show more offensive touch as well, maybe he gets a look beside Hoglander & Petey. Which then in turn sends Suter to the 4th line... and god damn, the 4th line of Suter-Blueger-Lafferty seems like it would be a PAIN in the ASS to deal with for other 4th lines! Yes, it is a bit of a stretch to say all of these things will happen, but hey even if 2/4 happen.... that's a hard team to go against. & just as an added bonus.. the defense that has 3 monsters standing 6'5 and weighing 210+ probably leaves the other team thinking twice in a 7 game series. Rant over. Enjoy! 1 3 2

Because I don't think EP is a special player worth 12 million, already told you that, and also told you I will be letting you know how right I am and how wrong you are 1 year from a few days ago. Btw, this is a bet I can't lose because I will be happier than you if he proves me wrong.

But I'm definitely in the camp of EP and Hughes are the main pieces of the core and the window is with them. And to me that window has just begun. Yes it could turn out that way. Love Huggy. The message is clear, just roll the dice on the current squad while EP40 is signed up for next 8 years....a huge window of opportunity with him and Hughes and JT.... I suppose... Sorry, I just can't hide my disappointment when we are really 1-2 pieces away from making a deep playoff run! Joshua coming back to take a forward spot, Podkolzin looks really good, a lot of heart and hustle, I don't want him out of the lineup, he's just going to get better. Plus Lindholm looking more and more comfortable, Soucy calm and physical. All Canucks playing Canuck style hockey. I like our chances with the current squad for a deep playoff run. 4 1

Sargon
We made our trade moves early, got Zadorov just what we needed at a great price from a divisional rival.we got Lindholm for things found behind the couch cushion and a late first from the same division rival.fans worried because he hasn’t lit it up and hasn’t played with instant chemistry but I could say the whole team hasn’t lit it up or played with chemistry during our slide since the all star game when we stopped playing with our original structure from the start of the season.we finally have a home stand with practice and we’re starting to play as a team again.i have a feeling Lindholm is going to be just what we needed.plus I feel like we added a huge mobile defence man at the deadline with the return of Soucy who we already know makes us better at a great price and term.plus a rejuvenated Pods all with out giving up our two cornerstone prospects.well met management, well met! 3

Coconuts
Overall, I'm happy, depth additions would be fine but I've no issue with simply letting the chips fall how they may Glad management isn't rushing to give up picks and prospects, hopefully that remains true at the draft and during the offseason

So true. McBaby Whiner and Auston Pants down are selfish one way players. Those guys need the Scotty Bowman talk or they will never lead a team in the playoffs that’s successful. Especially McWhiner. His legacy will be with Dionne. Lots of points but never a winner.
