It should have been Lindholm for Kuzmenko straight across with the benefit to them being the extra year. Kuz was the fastest active nhl player to 100 points(faster than Mcdavid, Ovechkin, Crosby, Matthews, Pettersson, etc) and we had to add a 1st and an “A” prospect to him to trade him??? That boggles my mind. *Late first **Shallow draft *** B prospect 1

What they are really saying is of all the players currently under 150 games played in the NHL he is the only one with 100 points. He did not reach 100 points faster than Crosby, McDavid, Pettersson and so on. On top of that Kuz already played 7+ years of pro hockey and was a developed man not an 18 year old in the NHL.

DeNiro
Guess wonder boys plan of creating an arbitrary deadline of trading Guentzel yesterday didn’t work. Sounds like he’s gonna have to lower the price. Teams obviously realize he doesn’t have as much leverage as he thinks he does. He’s still got a player he needs to trade. kettlevalley
The weird thing about where we are right now is we lack a crash em bash em goal scoring winger who will rough other guys up or drop the gloves when needed. Okay. But is that not why we traded for JT Miller? So if we have Petey and Lindholm, two other number one capable centers is the lineup better with JT crashing on the wing? RT should win coach of the year forthe great job he's done here but he screwed up the Kuzie situation, had blinders on and didn't coach him just whipped all the joy and creativity out of him. He was and is never going to be a Selke candidate but he could score you a crap load of goals. (yeah and cost you a few too) Glad he's doing better in Calgary looks happy again. Smashian Kassian
Cost for Toronto is a 3rd & a 5th for Edmundson. Not bad. Wonder what kind of depth D could've available beyond Edmundson.

Good veteran guy with cup experience though.

I'm not in the dressing room so I can't say for certain how RT treated Kuzy but from everything I have heard from Petey, Hughes and Boeser through interviews they love the way RT and crew have coached them. The coaching staff we have now has brought a level of structure we haven't seen in a while and I think the results speak for themselves. What message does it send to the rest of the players if RT and crew allow Kuzy to just do what he wants when he wants? The start of last season should be evidence enough that allowing top end players to simply play creative is not enough to win games. In my experiences, playing with players that only play with creativity and can't follow the rules of a simple breakout or D zone structure is very frustrating. you can never trust that they will be where you need them when you need them. It actually makes everyone else on the ice worse.
