These are trades that have occurred within this season. Trades that improved the team. Alvin got ahead of the insanity that is the trade deadline to acquire key pieces for the team. He paid (probably) less than he would have today for the same player. Imagine the bidding war that a beast like Zadorov would have had? There's no way he would go for the 3rd and 5th Alvin acquired him for in November. Even the package for Lindholm would have increased.

It was a very smart move by Allvin to make the big moves (Zadorov and Lindholm) early, although, the cost for Lindholm was high.

And with probably 10 teams angling to trade for him in the last few days, the price for Lindholm would probably have been far greater. He looked solid yesterday. Very comfortable and playing his astute defensive game.

Okay there.

No, but in the end Toffoli chose to go to Winnipeg over LA, Vancouver, and a few other teams he had familiarity with. I'm sure Alvin made every attempt, but you can't force a player, agent, or GM to accept a trade proposal.

Source that TT wanted winnipeg?

Zuckers asking price went from a reported 2nd round pick to a 6th round pick lol

6th without retention.  That 5.2 mil salary is a real drag.

Lots of “disappointment” today. Many posters seem tied into knots because of the lack of action/moves. The angst is palpable. Everybody is loading up - we’re in big trouble now!

You know where there is likely no disappointment? Inside our dressing room. I see a tight group of teammates who are playing for each other (and for future employment) and now can push forward vigorously with the group we have. There’s something to be said about honouring those relationships and trusting the cohesion that has been established. What’s wrong with saying and believing that “we’re good enough already”?

People also forget that this team already made big moves in January and February.

Zadorov and Lindholm were huge acquisitions and done early with the purpose of acclimating them quickly into our system and not waiting to the eleventh hour to get them adjusted. We also added Friedman, Lafferty and DeSmith at the beginning of the season. JR and Allvin have done a lot to improve the depth of this team.

Like you said, the team feels close nit now and we are seeing the chemistry forming before our eyes where now a lot of teams will have to figure out the mix now for themselves.

Fans too can also see that adding a healthy Joshua and Myers back into the lineup as our deadline acquisitions too.
