  1. 1. What team would you want the Canucks to face in the first round!

    • Edmonton Oilers - hey, we kicked their ass 8-1 to start the season so might as well sweep them 4 straight right out of the gates
      9
    • Nashville Predators - well, that is where they will end up so why fight it
      49
    • Seattle Kraken - the Crack will play well enough to beat the Knights twice and on the back of the Canucks helping out will slide in to WC2 ... plus FRACK the LTIR Cheaters!
      26
    • Vegas Baby! - we will have their number and might as well do the hard yard first and coast the rest of the way to SCF
      18
    • LA Kings - a quick tune up in a 4-2 series win will set up the Canucks nicely to take on whomever survives Coilers vs Knights
      9
    • None of the above, see my thoughts below on where the Canucks will end up in the standings and who they will face in Round 1

He's still a good player and I do have a theory that Evander Kane fits in a locker room during his "honeymoon period" with a team. Which usually lasts around 2 years and that is the length of his current contract.

Obviously I would be cautious resigning him long term after but, if the team's goal is to win in the next 2 to 3 years, the window kind of fits having Kane for the next 2 seasons.

He's caused problems on each team he's been on do you really want to bring on that baggage?

True but it takes like the 3rd year for the relationship to go sour. We haven't heard any attitude problems with the Oilers his first two years with them I believe.

And I recall his first couple of years with the Sharks reports were that he got along with everyone in the locker room

I say keep him for 2 years then don't commit long term after.

Is he a hard forechecker/responsible defensively?  No.  Is he good at taking penalties?  Oh, yes.

Does he fit on a team run by Rick Tocchet?  ... NO.

Our window should be more than 2 years though. Why risk the long term chemistry of the team? I would pass.

I posted that in the wrong thread but oh well.

You should ban yourself for 15 minutes and then all is forgiven.
