[PGT] Scamalanche at Canucks

Recommended Posts

Nux played a good 2 periods and then let in a bad goal with 2 seconds left in the 2nd by not closing out the period.

Then in the 3rd they played dump it in dump it in as if they were guaranteed to win. Petey took a bad lazy penalty and it led to the second goal. Then more mistakes and dump it in mentality and its 3 to 3 .

Finally a dumb penalty by Soucy and we were cooked in OT on a 4 on 3

The refs were irrelevant.

Canuck fans need to stop whining about the refs and get tough.  We are going to the playoffs.

If we get a penalty say good, lets crack some skulls!

No more whining about the refs FFS.  Especially you @DLC. You are leading a fan base to be whiners. Stop it.

One would have called a timeout after goal 2 then tell them to keep the forecheck going and stop sitting back awhile reminding them the officials are dogshit and calling everything so sticks down and eyes up.

Not just dogshit but ... white dogshit ... this shit is getting old.

Right - so how is that any different from my "shit happens, play harder" take you thought was so weak?

We probably win that game with Demko in net, even with those bounces and calls. On to the next one!

You're very likely correct, however the team better get ready for the next month or so of not having Demko to save their asses when they give up like tonight!    We no longer have Demko to cover up the true identity of this group and will finally get to see the true colors of this team.

No matter what happens, it will allow PA/JR to decide who out of the 11 players (half our team) with expiring contracts step up and really deserve to stay.

But why do they deserve to lose when the Avs only showed up for 20?

Not only that....they showed up AFTER they used some questionable tactics to get an upper hand.

It's pathetic to me. Diving and dirty play.

Because they kept scoring and we didn't. They got one PP goal and we didn't. Same number of PPs. They executed. We didn't. (I'm not meaning to sound hostile here)

The momentum was DRASTICALLY shifted and we had a lot of passengers in the game rather than drivers. Pettersson was pretty ineffective for the most part, aside from a couple of plays. I really don't mean to put the heater on him, but he's just signed a new 11+ million dollar contract. The questions are not going to be easier on him. HE needs to pick it up.

I can't get over the difference in puck movement from the 1st to the 3rd.

In the 1st they were suffocating Colorado, playing connected all over the ice, moving the puck easily & controlling the game.

By the time of the third they couldn't connect passes, missed so many clears, had nowhere to go to the point where every shift was struggling to gain the red & dump it in - only for Colorado to go back for it & continue the attack, over and over and over again.

Agree and they stopped skating almost completely.  They looked like a totally different team in the third.  A hard lesson loss

Good quotes by Miller and Zadorov, even if they're clichéd.  They owned up to their shortcomings and accepted the loss for what it was.  And they're committed to not let that happen again.  None of this blaming refs bullshit.

Nuff said. Next.

Refs may not have been the sole reason, but it still needs to be made clear that their lack of professionalism was not acceptable.  The league needs to feel some pressure to start holding these dirtbags accountable.

I am not hiding or dodging anything, you haven’t said anything worth replying to other than insulting people.

The avs didn’t  give up when faced with adversity. We did. That’s the difference. Coach is saying it as well. That’s why the Avs deserved to win. They were down 3-0 against us and they came back. They faced adversity head on. They deserved it for that reason. We got bad calls against us and caved. In all honesty they didn’t show up in the third. That’s the issue. You can’t sit back for 20 min especially against a team like the Avs.

But why do they deserve to win when they were ghosts 2/3rds of the game AND needed help of 2 phantom calls to get back in it?

I'll help out. I really liked Lafferty's play in the first half of the season. He suddenly dropped off and I no longer care if he's on the team or not. He lost his hustle for some reason.

Well, the NHL isn't gonna do jack shit about it, so get over it.

Do you think the refs conducted themselves appropriately?  Yes or no answer.

They got through adversity. That’s the answer. Canucks didn’t. Any team deserves to win if they overcome

adversity.

You ignored the issue that the refs were in fact dog shit and hold some accountability. Stop blindly ignoring facts.

They were tired from having backtobacktoback rest days.
