I have heard there is a 27% chance….

You have to use The Steiner Boolean Pythagorean Triples equation bruv.  It accounts for all the variables in the game.

This!! Exactly

Park a big guy in there already

Put the onus on them to get him out

I'd like them to, even if it's PP2 to try Zadorov and Meyers in front of the net with 2 forwards on the wings and Hronek on the point. I know 3 D-men on a PP... no goalie could see the blast coming.

It's interesting being on the other side of things this year, with the Canucks having basically clinched a playoff spot and having to face some desperate teams with nothing to lose. I seem to recall the terrible Canucks teams of the last few years beat some good teams down the stretch as well.

That is a really great observation and good perspective. We were absolutely a desperate team during that hard fought push/run when Bruce was behind the bench. It certainly didn't mean those other teams sucked or were terrible.

At this stage and placement in the season, the Nucks are sitting comfortable. My only wish is for an entertaining game. Despite the last two losses, they were mostly entertaining. For me the low points were:1) the 5-3 penalty where MacK clearly embellished. This drives me nuts and reminds me of the SJ series where Joe started shaking the wrong hand. The Reffs need to start calling these things; and 2) the Miller headshot being assessed a 2 min. What's wrong with this picture. Worse yet, it's in our own building in front of our fans. Good thing I'm not there or I'd be throwing things on the ice to make a point that the coaches seem to ignore. Big Z gets suspended where there was no clear intent (poor timing) and the Avs clear intent to hit the head gets a 2 min. I sure hope MGMT is doing something about this because Tochet seems mum on the bench. Here to better officiating and an entertaining game. Also, FU Bettman, I still hate your sleazy game management approach.

...The way fights happen now, both refs are there to catch the players and protect them. Make it a rule you can't just start a fight until a ref is there to protect and watch the fight...

Fully agree in sentiment with your entire post but I can't recall ever seeing a ref  'catch' a falling player in the course of a fight and can't imagine it happening or the idea of it playing a role in any rules or policies. Seen them break up many fights and step in in various ways but never seen them rush to keep a falling playing from hitting their head on the ice.

I work in social work / health care and most agencies, including ours, have a 'no catch' policy around supported individuals. Rationale is that it's almost impossible to do and the worker attempting to do so is often injured in the process. Often worse so than the individual falling would have been. It's an instinctual response that many of us do in the spur of the moment but we're encouraged to focus on removing hazards (aside from the ground itself of course) that the falling person could hit on the way down as opposed to trying to catch them or break their fall.

Not sure the NHL would have anything similar in place to protect officials but just thought I'd throw that in as related point of interest

Not a fan of fights in games but understand their place and doubt they're going anywhere for some time

Need to start putting an over/under on how many times he says 'obviously' in each clip when posting Lindy pressers. I haven't hit play yet and don't know how long it is but my guess is at least one for every 13 seconds... will report back after submitting and viewing

***update*** Kudos to Elias on that one. He definitely improves once he gets past the first few questions so I lost big time. Did the math and needed 17 to get my 1/13 seconds.

Didn't really factor in for the time eaten up by questions either but only 6 obviously's in the first half then only one in the second half as he became more engaged.

I'm sure it's just a nerves thing as different guys have different comfort levels in front of the cameras and microphones.

Miller stays mobile and that works but you are right about getting a mean, nasty net front presence. Imagine Zadorov on the #1 PP.

While l agree, l don't think injuring Zad at this time of the year is an ideal scenario.

Placing Chaos there would be ideal. We know he can block goalies , worth a try. He more than likely would draw more penalties for our benefit,  as he is easily moved.

Myers is not the issue… if there is a guy to take out it should be Cole. I want Jules in > Cole

So with the Lindholm line, it looks like Tocchet is going to use it as a hard match, which is interesting. Not sure what Santa Petey and the elves are going to do, maybe Tocchet will tell Petey to shoot more and let Garland drive the play. I hope Pods does well on L4, maybe pot a goal or two. I know he will likely go back to Abby for their playoffs when Joshua returns, but I think he's being penciled in as a top nine winger next year.

I was looking at the Abby roster, I see four forwards, Pods, Baines, Karlson, and Ratu, one D, Johansson, and Silovs who look ready to play at least L3-4, 6-7 D and backup goalie spots with the big club next season. With DPetey and Lekkerimaki on the way, this team is going to be exchanging overpriced free agents with internal promotions. I think that's a reason PA has changed his stance on resigning UFAs until the end of the season, and only if they agree to team-friendly contracts.

But wow - at what cost!   Not only did we give up a 1st round pick, a 3rd or 4th round pick, a very highly ranked & talented defenseman prospects Hunter Brzustewicz and defenseman prospects Joni Jurmo and a highly liked player and 40 goal scorer who was pivotal on our PP and line with EP40 in Andrei Kuzmenko but it also changed the chemistry in the room & brought nothing but bad luck for the team ever since - just for a "Rental Player"  and an old swedish one at that which this team has been cursed with for generations with a long list stretching from Pahlsson to Sundin to Arvidson to Samuelsson to Erickson to O.E.L. and now Lind-🏠.

So in a nutshell i'd go "slightly" out on a limb and say it was at least "a complete disaster" so far - second only to the Mikeyev and  debacle explaining why the canucks were trying to unload him at TDL a couple of weeks ago - only 3-1/2 weeks after his first game with us!  That speaks volumes!

Kuzmenko sucks, we also desperately need the cap space next summer

The third or most likely fourth is very minimal

Brzustewicz is possibly a fringe PP specialist at best, very far to go even for that

Jurmo is worthless at this point

The first is the only thing of real value and it's a late one that was 100% getting traded

That's not too bad a cost at all. Took a swing. It wasn't a homerun but isn't an out yet either. That's hockey. Lindholm also has excellent playoff attributes for which his potential value is still high.

^ this part. People are losing their shizz over having a 3C available.

He could easily go on a streak here where he gets a bunch of points and gets the monkey off his back. He's still an asset as a defensive center and I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do in the playoffs. It's too early to declare that trade a bust.
