canuck73_3
Anyone thinking 1.5 mill or close to that are purely delusional will be 3+ at minimum and again he's far from a bad player. Typical whipping boy comments will fly though

I think Pesce can regain his form here.. he is actually playing a great second half of the season... while myers is showing his age... still I bet he gets offers for 2x4.5 from teams like BUF,SENS etc... and 3.5x2 to 3.0x2 on contenders/ no tax teams... Myers last contract he could be florida bound

Not too sure what cap allocation though. Is 3 per too much? I'd be fine with 2x3M tbh He gets a lot of flack around here but there's honestly a lot to like He's an RD with a long history of playing top 4 minutes, that's not a bad sort of thing to have as a 5D, he's someone who could capably play top 4 in the event of injuries He's already a known quantity by players, management, and the coaching staff, you're not bringing in a wildcard, you know what you're getting from him as a Canuck He does bring additional size and provides some complimentary offense, he's actually third in points for Canucks D this season Having a veteran D on the corp isn't a bad thing, I don't see Cole's coming back as a sure thing If he's going to take less for any team it's going to be Vancouver He's an RD stopgap, RD are good to have, he's a stopgap til Willander is ready to go He already knows the systems Myers has demonstrated that he's a capable D when he's not asked to do too much, it's not a shock that he's looked better when surrounded by a competent D core He's generally pretty durable 1 3

I was just getting numbers off Cap friendly that appear to be wrong, I think the numbers I posted only included 5 v 5 play. I would still prefer Soucy over Myers going forward if had to choose only one. If Myers wants to stay on as a #5 dman and be paid as such I would love to keep him and I think he is very motivated to stay with Vancouver, we will see what happens. We have required that for far too long. Not to mention his O instincts are relatively solid, his passing has been great, and he’s rarely caught out of position in the same way Myers used to be on the regular. no knocks on Myers, I like him as a player and have always thought there was a lot of expectation on the guy, but Zadorov is the better longterm projection which is where our dollars need to go to, especially if Myers can command 3.5-4.5 Edited March 19 by RWJC

He played junior in Kelowna from 2005 and spends the off-season there every year. I think it's safe to say his permanent home is in Kelowna. Now he may end up in Calgary, and if GM Conroy offers him 3x3M, I'm sure he'd listen, but there may be other options if he makes it to July 1st. Confirmed I have been to his place in Kelowna, nice place.

He's played in 26 games this year out of 82. That's brutal, and I'd say if he can't stay healthy, even what the team is paying would be an overpayment. Staying healthy might be the question mark for Soucy moving forward.

Myers at 3.5M, okay. And then I'd give Zadorov who's younger, 4.5M over 5-6 years. Reports out there are saying he's wanting 5M, but nobody really gets what they want unless they're an elite superstar player in the league.

Myers last contract he could be florida bound There's no way he goes to Sens or Buffalo. Those teams are young, but they're also losing teams and rebuilding teams. Doubt he goes there, unless the money is too good to pass up. Another 6M for 6 years? He'd probably sign there. At least the cash rolling in is of some comfort to all the losing they could be doing. If he's getting 3.5M or 3M in Florida or Tampa Bay or the no tax states, I think he stays. Uprooting your entire family is hard, and it's not just him now. It's his wife, and kids who will have to make new friends, community, etc. That's hard. It's the human element of NHL players that we fans often underestimate. We just think these guys just move to whichever teams or cities that offer them the largest money. They want to get paid, sure, but there's a family component (for those who are married and have kids). I think Myers stays, unless the offer from management is a complete lowball offer. Then he's insulted, and goes elsewhere. Maybe even Seattle to spite the team.

Combover
Yeah but we don’t need him (Myers) Juulsen has been more than adequate we can save cap by going with youth, brisebois was playing good before his injury to. im a pass on Myers I’m glad he finally managed to improve his play just in time for his contract year…… Edited March 19 by Combover
