Provost
It would have been nice to get him, but Milstein over values his clients based on popularity vs. On ice play. His interviews focus on that a lot. Allvin telegraphed it a bit mentioning that they do want to explore if Hronek could carry his own pairing. Hughes-Tanev Soucy-Hronek XX-Myers We need two top four D… or one if we want to promote Soucy

That's a good point. The other guys either took a fair deal or a discount. We handed too many overpaid contracts during the Benning-era. It really sucks to lose Zad, but I trust this management. 1 1

HKSR
Trade for Marino... it would make such a difference to how we can build up our D group... check out this cap compliant roster: Suter-Miller-Boeser Hoglander-Petey-Debrusk Joshua-Blueger-Garland PDG-Aman-Karlsson Hughes-Hronek Dillon-Marino Soucy-Myers Yes, it all fits under $88M with a bit of cap to spare. 1

We'd still do well to add one more guy (Tanev?) though.

JB was just ffnn scattered. 2

Fans can't scream, cry, and complain about overpayments and then at the same time demand guys be overpaid. That's irresponsible. Tough calls need to be made. Has to be middle ground and make sense financially. As hard as it is to see Zad go, we're fortunate to have this management group. 2 2

Wheres Wellwood
If Zadorov was a RHD, he'd have been re-signed, no question. But as a LHD, Hughes and Soucy are above him. We got Soucy for under 4M as a UFA. We can find a 3LD for less than that 3

Warhippy
Trading for Marino will cost us a fair bit. Zads leaving allows GMs to know that we now need a premium asset at a premium position and that won't be cheap. Marino will be multiple picks or a middling pick and a young player. Who are we giving up for Marino? Hogs? For an RHD (big need but less than last year) that is middle of the road across the board. Hesitant to start seeing this management group start dumping assets to fill holes every year
HKSR
1 minute ago, DexM94 said: Suter still on the first line after a complete offseason ? no thanks Honestly, I look at the lines in terms of production as a whole... Suter was only on a 35 point pace, but the duo of Miller-Boeser sees a huge increase in CF and FF% when Suter is on that line. It produces better with him on it than when he's not. Suter-Miller-Boeser = 200ish points combined Hoglander-Petey-??? = 180 to 200 points combined Joshua-Blueger-Garland = 120 points combined Now if Petey got a legit top 6F ... say a Stamkos or Guentzel... Hoglander-Petey-Stamkos = 220 points combined Suter-Miller-Boeser = 200 points combined Joshua-Blueger-Garland = 120 points combined
