Which he might not

its a big decision, especially when you know that in 3 days you're going to have a dozen equivalent offers from organizations and cities that present entirely unique opportunities. hard not to just wait and see what the other options are.

Hard to say what direction this will be going.  Big Z and his camp may even wait to see what is out there and how comparable to the Canucks offer before deciding.

Also, JR/PA will have to address the contracts of Garland, BB, Soucy and Demko in the near future so we see why the Canucks are a bit more careful now on contract matters.

As some have said, not sure if this goes past 5.25M+  just because of all the pending contracts coming up and mgmt is trying to spread out the funds.

It was wrong to sign Myers before Zadorov, who we know is looking for term.

Myers is on his last contract,  Management should have held ground to  2-2.5 m

Zadorov should have been signed first and the pressure should have been put on Myers considering his previous 6x6m and what the organization got out of it.

Zadorov offers more ,  is without a home ,

spoke highly of this organization, and played like a player who wants to stay and make this home.

Showing he still has a ceiling of potential.

He wears his Heart on his sleeve .

He plays better and offers more than what Myers contract previously gave the team.

I highly doubt what Zadorov wants is over 5.25. and may be below that already.

If Zadorov signs somewhere else,

Canucks fans get to watch Myers again without Cole or Zadorov taking on those heavy minutes..

An aging Myers 34 , all the weight gets thrown on Soucy.

and neither play Myers or Soucy are as dynamic, or have the potential to be better,

Zadorov does.

Canucks will look for a band-aid solution to replace Zadorov if he moves on.

When the band-aid solution to go to last is Myers .

Not treating Nikita like one.

I think management has made a mistake in this pecking order.

I'm good with it, can't wait on one player. Shades of "we ran out of time"

I think management has made a mistake in this pecking order.

Agreed. Zadorov should have been a bigger priority than Myers and considering how much Myers made in his last contract, and how underwhelming he was for most of it, he was given too much. Of course, there's the chorus of fans who'll state that Myers took less to play here, but there's really no way of proving that at all. Mere supposition.

It’s possible that management had a deal with Myers for a while now, and maybe there’s no real “pecking order” to the contracts. Whomever was ready and available to sign was dealt with first. No real way of knowing at this point.

I do hope that Alvin still has Zadorov in his plans though, seeing as how he has stated that he wants to be here. Not a player who's easily replaceable.

For those listening to PA's recent press conference, it looks like we're not going to resign Zadarov 😞

The price he's asking is probably too high. I love Zad but there's a limit to how much we can spend on one player. Let's see how much he ends up signing in the open market.

Good thing we signed Myers though

Management went with a cheaper, older option. Bad plan.

They chose to go with a player who spent the majority of his last contract being a liability on the ice rather than signing a player who elevated his game in the playoffs.
