Today Seravalli called this negotiation a big game of chicken.

Its clear Zadorov really wants to stay, I think something gets done here when the dust clears. 4.25 - 4.75 x 6 years is my guess of the ballpark.

Seravalli can suck my fucking toes.
Zero chance he has any insider information and is 100% just saying shit.

He was the guy talking about recency bias, wasn’t he?

They'll give Z a solid $5M per season for 6 years.

So that's what that raw sewage smell was.

People should know better than to think this supposed "insider" has any "inside" knowledge.  The only knowledge he has is the condition of his large intestines by looking at it from the inside all day. :classic_rolleyes:

He got Mikheyev's injury right when everyone in the market lambasted him, tbf.

Mikheyev's injury, Petterssons contract, all the Seattle draft picks.

You can hate Frank if you want (I wasn't thrilled with him during the Oiler series) but he's was first on all these things, clearly he has sources.

It was a joke. kind of.

He gets fed info by agents. In return he puts their comparables out there.

Like most insiders, when he has no new info he resorts to speculation.

fwiw he did say in the same interview he would be comfortable giving Zadorov 4.5-4.75 x 6 years, that's doesn't strike me as an outrageous tire pumping to be fair.

Rick Dhaliwal does the same thing too, where did 6x6 on Zadorov come from after all? Or 13M for Pettersson? 'Insiders' gotta get information somewhere!

I never disputed that. I just pointed out the obvious.

Give him as much term as it takes to keep his cap hit under 5 mil

The $750,000 Hronek didn’t take and the deal Blueger has given indicate that they’ll have enough to get Zadorov signed.

Mikeyev is heading to San Jose for Addison. I’ve got a feeling.

Funny you say this right as a potential trade to Chicago is breaking haha. I imagine this means Zaddy is coming back for sure now.

If Zadorov wants to be here long term, then he will probably want trade protection and a reasonable term. Usually added term and trade protection results in a lower cap hit. Hopefully Milstein doesn't get too greedy on behalf of his client. If he does, hopefully Zadorov steps in and tells him to get it done. I'm still hoping for 4.75 million or so.

Anything Sub 5 would be amazing.
