Reinbacher might turn out to be a solid top pair d, but they needed someone like Michkov to build around. That's kind of the line you have to walk. RHD Is the hardest position to fill. But if you don't have some elite scoring talent no matter the position you can fill your boots with St Hubert gravy. They really stink and it’s fun to laugh at them.

Kragar
Thought it was pretty pathetic of the Habs, that the 2nd guy had to come and grab Garly when he and Xhekaj were trading jabs. But then, they are pretty pathetic lately. Edited March 22 by Kragar

I mean them missing the playoffs would be hilarious but it would be so sweet to knock them out first round too I found it hilarious if Canucks end up finishing first in the west and their reward, defending cup champion Golden Knights as their first round opponent opponent just like 2011 and their reward is the first round cup champions Blackhawks both times plus 2012 Kings that won the Cup. Every time they have a great season, they end up facing the Cup Champions. Let's hope for a better result.

Go Canucks Go! Go figure, the coach were concerned about the letdown last week and it worked. Let's have them facing adversity in sprint after a long marathon. I can see offense not clicking and not firing all cylinder and yet they still put up 4 goals. My biggest concern is the Vegas as our reward for the first round with their players returning from long injury list for game 1. So let's see what will happen and maybe a change in standing for once. The only easier games are two against the Coyotes. We have 4 games left in March. One against Dallas, one against LA. Even the Anaheim game is at 12:30pm on Easter Sunday. If we run the table the rest of month and finish March with 104 points. We will have a lock. I'm not so worried about missing the playoffs. I'm worried about stumbling into the playoffs. There’s always other sides to the story… - The first game against Vegas is their first game back home after a 4 games in 6 nights road trip. - Right after that game, they’re back on the road again, 2nd game in Vancouver. - Jets game is last one of the season, likely doesn’t mean anything for at least one of the teams. - Edmonton game is 2nd if a back-to-back for them, and their 3rd game in 4 nights… …Our schedule is awesome. The team is going to be well rested for the playoffs, while still warming up against solid competition. I’m super-stoked! 6
Popular Post JamesB
Solid win. Most betting sites have had the Canucks over 99% to make the playoffs for a while but, with 96 pts after tonight's win, they could probably take the rest of the season off and still make the playoffs. Should clinch mathematically soon. Here are my take-aways. 1. Another good defensive effort with the Canucks pretty much shutting down Montreal in the second and third periods but DeSmith had to make some big saves early, including a breakaway and an earlier grade A chance when Juulsen fell down on his first shift. 2. The start was a bit slow and when the Canucks failed to score on the 5-on-3 PP I think there was some reason to be nervous. But the team settled down, got two goals late in the first period and never looked back despite giving up a goal late in the second period against the run of play to make the score 3-1. 3. The "all-strength" expected goals comparison was 2.69 -- 1.31 for the Canucks and the all-strength scoring chances were 35-12. So the Canucks gave up very little (and had a good PK again). They did not generate a lot and Z.'s first goal was a long seeing-eye shot from the point (i.e. pretty lucky), but they were by far the better team. 4. Nice to see Z. get a couple of goals. The second goal was a very nice play by Z to get into the play and make a really nice shot. Lafferty made key plays on both Z. goals. He did not get an assist on the first one but screened the goalie, which was essential to get the goal. 5. Also nice to see Mik get two more assists. He has been playing well for a while and it is great that he is finally "getting rewarded" with 4 pts in his last 4 games. 6. The LOTTO line was re-united for a couple of shits starting with a great shift where they dominated play. Then, on another shift, they gave up a goal. Miller made two weak defensive plays in the sequence leading up the goal and had one of his weaker games. But no-one had a bad game. Every single Canuck skater had a positive on-ice scoring chance differential (which is rare). 7. Blueger's scoring chance differential was 10-1. He had an excellent game including a great pass on Garland's goal. Podz gets his first point of the season (to go along with 6 hits) and Aman finally scores again. Really good to some guys other than usual stars come through. 8. Satisfying win. Looking forward to Saturday's game against Calgary. Looks like Marky will probably play. Sergiomomesso
I think loading up with the lotto line at the end of periods one and two should be a common thing in the postseason. Even though they got scored on tonight. They did have a solid shift and had some good looks.

That is what they will use in the playoffs, maybe the perfect time to try that from end of period shifts then switch the line full-time when playoffs start. Again, I'm weary of opponent coach being able to figure us out if we show them our hands.
