Actually, Vancouver had many chances in tight. LAK were the lucky ones to have even scored 3 times with how few opportunities they had in close. VAN played a much better shutdown system, they just were victims of a couple bad bounces.

And some fantastic acting on Drew Doughty's part. Zapruder would've blushed at that.

What indications tell you Lindholm is done?

The fact he is seeing a specialist & Tocchet has stated he isn't sure about shutting him down for the season - my speculation is he will be shutdown.

Thing is, only one team will get through it all but that doesn't mean that the rest are invalid or not worthy of appreciation, support and acknowledgement.

One team.

So if they're planning on their "AHA told you so" moment it's kind of lame. The odds are in the favour of NOT lifting a cup but that doesn't mean these predictions are somehow incredible insight. Just a numbers thing.

And this team very well could.....based on how the season's unfolding. Sure, cherry pick certain games where the outcome could've easily gone either way. One team got a couple lucky bounces...I didn't see a glaring discrepancy in quality of play.

No matter what, this team's out performed most everyone's expectations and they are a good team. They are in the conversation and shouldn't be taken lightly. We've had plenty of "aha, told you so" moments all season that support the Canucks being a good team. But they don't show up for those moments.

Couldn't have said that any better. Spot on. All of it. You're right.

Anything can happen in the playoffs. We all know it's a different beast. Predicting absolutes with this type of parity among teams is much, much harder than years past. That's why we're seeing more top teams blowing leads, losing games they "should" win, other teams playing desperate ... it's happening league wide ... and none of it means those top teams suck.

The LA game was a good example. We didn't get outplayed. We didn't suck. Bad bounces and mistakes happened.

That's why in the 1970s those mesh baseball hats with "Shit Happens" were so popular ... because everyone knows ... shit happens. 😉

The AHA gotcha moment isn't going to happen because this team, management, and coaching staff has already proven so many people and media wrong.

LA got lucky bounces, that was the difference in that game.

"Not LA good" is a crock. The Canucks completely took over the game at times and it was goaltending and shot blocks that saved them. LA can be suffocating but people are far too afraid of them. I'm glad my team isn't.

I’m afraid of how boring the games against them are

He didn't say the words "shutting it down" on the audio clip on Sportsnet 650 today.  Where did you get that quote?

Tocchet said it's nothing serious.

“Somewhat maintenance and we’ve got to look at some stuff and evaluate every day,” Tocchet said. “I don’t know at this point about [shutting him down], to be honest. It’s about feel and we’ll see how it shapes out day-to-day.”

So you just immediately default to the negative.

I think we should probably just wait and see before we hit the panic button and start finding reasons to doubt our team.

I was actually looking for this earlier but got caught in back-button quicksand.

We're not in as bad shape as some believe. Bad bounces and losses happen. Need to tighten line changes

That's not worth $8m+ x 8, imo

Nope.   It's worth maybe 8 x 5.   There are no guaranties in this sport once guys are UFAs.    Or 7 x 7.   Either deal would maybe work for the team.

There was a tweet I saw that said "shut it down" but maybe that's coming outta thin air didn't listen to Tochs actual clip

Just now, tas said:

lindholm's "injuries" are as real as ian cole's for his "maintenance days".

it's giving a vet a healthy scratch without embarrassing him and creating a media circus around it.

Hopefully, that'd be great! Lindholm has been a force in the circle & a beast defensively.
