Goals! Goals! Goals! Toughness

48 members have voted

  1. 1. Best 50 Goal Scorer to Never Score 60

    • Marcel Dionne - end of list. Got 59 one year stop the presses.
      13
    • Brendan Shanahan - yes, he piled in the rubber but he could also punch your face in doing it.
      10
    • Mark Messier - let's forget the Vancouver Canuck years and he is my vote. What not to like, tough, goal scorer, guaranteed wins.
      3
    • Bobby Hull - a pure goal scorer, 610 goals while taking time to play in the WHA ... oh what could have been. Smooth skater and played with an edge
      19
    • None of the above, see my comment below.
      2
  2. 2. Who would you add if you could reach back into the past for their prime years to add the toughness needed to survive to win 16 post season games? But out goes one of Petery, Miller, Lindholm or Boeser.

    • Donald Brashear - hey, he developed silky hands for a tough guy
      8
    • Bob Probert - nothing more needs to be said
      11
    • Rick Tocchet - hell he would lace them up right now
      25
    • Tic Toc is a bit of a cheat so can't chose that one otherwise there are way too many players to choose from. See my comment below with my vote of a tough guy that could also score a few timely goals.

One has nothing to do with the other.  Blueger high sticked him and called.  It was a penalty and he should have known better and been better.  He cost his team points, plain and simple

Not that simple. Call the Heiskanen, obvious penalty and maybe it completely changes the outcome of the game. Completely blown call on a penalty, so obvious a Trumpster in South Carolina who's never seen a hockey game knows it's a penalty.

What does it matter if the pp is complete garbage for three months now? It’s been shot and they haven’t fixed it so what does it matter?

At the very least its a whistle that prevents the following play (in this case GWG)

Canucks have a bunch of holes right now. They most likely are going to lose the division and I think the big lead in the division screwed them. Got too confident.

They are up 6 points. They are going to play Edmonton one more time when they are a lot better so it’s a real possibility but keep laughing. I guess it is funny if they do end up losing it with having such a big lead.

No person who is a hockey fan could accept the officiating we got tonight.

I don't know if it's gross incompetence, game management or something else

There was 2 very very different levels of officiating in each team.

If officiating is going to be this bad at least let it be equally bad to everyone so it's a level playing field

Thats a losers statement

So looking the other way for one team has nothing to do with not missing anything against the other …

it’s Pretty simple call the penalties they chose not to call one and  they chose to call the other

so I’d say it’s related.

Once again the Canucks are outworked and it seems that the coaches didn't have the team ready for this game.  To much playing pass and trying to be slick during the powerplays.  The officiating certainly didn't help, but the Canucks were the masters of this outcome.  They need to figure this out before the post season...assuming they can clinch a spot.

By what, calling an obvious high sticking penalty?  Are you saying he didn't high stick him?

It was a penalty yes, but they conveniently missed or decided not to call 3 blatant Dallas ones right before. That is the issue. Like ok, don’t call those and let them play, but be consistent. It’s piss poor to give the visitors a PP with 3 mins left in a tie game after not calling anything in the few minutes before.

Get a specialist, and dump Yeo. Tocchet can adjust.

I wouldn't argue with getting a specialist and long as it isn't Newell.

I don't know about Yeo.  He isn't well liked by fans but seems to be highly respected in the hockey community.  Not sure where Tocchet knows him from
