Some one may go down with an injury, and this gives him an idea who would best replace said injured player.

 

This is normal. Forward line juggling and D pairing switch ups are typical with playoff bound teams. So are maintenance days. We clinched a playoff berth today by virtue of results in a game played today that went in our favour for the clinch. 

 

I will say this though, and perhaps I'm nitpicking; even in our successful 2023-2024 season, destiny was within reach and we blew opportunities twice to clinch. And once again we wait for outcomes of a win or loss in other games played to determine our fate. 

 

I mean we were gonna get in the playoffs anyway. Like I said, I'm nitpicking. But it seems that throughout the years they always seemingly are in that position; win this game, get in the playoffs, win that game, get the final wildcard spot. But mostly they don't take destiny in their own hands and lose those games. And therefore await outcomes of other games results to see their fate. I mean after all these years, I just go with the flow. The fact that it happened again this season doesn't surprise me. 

 

Yea! Yea! Like I said............Nitpicking!  But they coulda' clinched by beating L.A. Or clinched by beating Dallas. But...Oh well!!!!!! I digress.

Well. The PP certainly needs something. If they connected more on their east/west passing, they's find more success that way. Obviously get pucks through, crash the net for an ugly goal or a tip in. As mentioned earlier somewhere, put a big body in front of the net; Daks, Myers, Zads. Take away the goalie's eyes. Try a person in the bumper spot who's actually a shooter; Flow, Petey?!?!?!?!????    I dunno. I mean I like the pretty goals as much as the next guy, but for playoffs, ugly counts for a lot!

 

As far as the line juggling, I echo Joe King; chemistry, complimenting each other's abilities and such are key. The injury bug with Daks and Lindy out certainly juggled things up didn't they.

 

Really though. RT has been juggling lines since day one. Pretty much had to do it to see the best pairings. He obviously learned Flow with JT, Garly with Daks, and at the time Kuzy with Petey.  As we all know, the only ones that stuck are the THIRD line, and Flow with JT. Every other line, mostly because of the struggling Russian forwards caused all the mixing and matching of lines.

 

-  I still think Petey hasn't a partner yet. It was supposed to be Lindy, but hasn't gelled thus far. Petey has to get going. RT's trying his best to achieve such.

-  JT/Flow with PDG at the beginning looked good, but PDG fell out of favour. They've tried other thirds with JT/Flow and seemingly, still are!

-  The fourth line? Always juggling there.  Guys going in and out from being healthy scratched and such, up and down from the farm team and back up; it's the life of a 4th liner with the Canucks. Unless you're Motte/Lammy/Highmore!

 

I would add to Joe King's quote above that also all this line juggling is preparing for playoff scenarios. To know what adjustments need to be made to counter opposing team's strategies. Having an answer to possibly put success in our favour is key in playoffs. I mean it'll be a learning experience for all coaches and players. But thankfully we have the luxury to figure out some of that sh*t out now in season rather than in the playoffs.

On the powerplay he has 2g, 2a in 59 games. PP shot % of 11%. 

 

He had initial success putting in rebounds but last game he was passing.
