Popular Post Jaimito
8-3-1 in Mar. 8 Games left in Apr. 3 at home, one back to back on the road to start. Demko will be back at the end of the week, probably vs LAK. PP was 50% today. PK 100%. Trending the right way. The way we were playing for a majority of the game, we could have easily lost 3-2 and gotten 0 point. It was another one of those 50-50 games and we got lucky this time around. In playoffs there's no way in hell you played loosely like they did today and still win.

KFAN
It wasn't a pretty win, especially against a bad team on their 2nd in 2 nights. What can you say about Garly and Dak! That line, when JT gets it a bit more together should be awesome. Now if only Petey's line could do their thing. Silovs did well as a backup to the backup. We've got good enough goaltending and defense to do well in the playoffs. We just need the offense to be better. 1

Top Defensive team in the NHL since all star break 3. Sat Shah during the intermission mentioned top 5 in generating high danger chances since all star break 4. We have this: Today's game was not a Picasso, but they still pulled it out. We can go through the Duck's last 50 games and see a bunch of top 10 teams that either lost to them or squeaked out a win in the end. They are a NHL team, a few mental lapses and they will hang around. All this without Petey at his best and without their #1 goalie in net - a guy that happens to be one of the best in the league. Yet you read GDT after GDT after GDT and there is an element in here that comes across as if the team is bottom 10 in the NHL. 4 2 2

Slegr
Questionable reffing again, but luckily it didn’t impact us today. Joshua and Garland have their special chemistry on display again. I’m so excited about playoffs this year. So many highs and lows… I may need to find a good shrink for post-season. 1

I know they have clinched, but building good habits continues. Almost losing the game because they decided to stop competing and track was very annoying. Have to find another gear here before the post season begins. Since ASG they've been having troubles holding the lead, need to nip that in the rear end with playoffs around the corner

Popular Post JamesB
A bit close for comfort but, as indicated by the underlying stats, it was a solid win, with an all-strength expected goals differential of 3.17-2.53 and a shot differential of 30-22. Here are my takeaways. 1. The most obvious point is the strong game by Joshua. Signing him as a UFA in the summer of 2022 was a great pick-up. The line of Miller-Joshua-Garland was very good overall with a Corsi differential of of 21-10 at 5-on-5. 2. After all the angst about the PP, it was nice to see the PP get two quality goals. The PK was also very good. 3. First NHL game of the season for Silovs. He was good, especially late when Anaheim pulled their goals. But the first Anaheim goal was from a bad angle. Silovs did not leave a lot of space in the top short-side corner, but it was too much. The D is always going to let the forward take that shot, so it is up to the goalie to cover the short side. 4. The Pettersson line had a good game despite not getting on the board (although Boeser got a PP goal). I would keep Petey with Boeser and Hoggy. They look good and should break out soon. 5. Once again, Mik, Suter, and Lafferty struggled, although Lafferty had 7 hits, which helps 6. Overall the D and the forwards had another sound defensive game, not giving up much. Have to mention Hughes again, who had another excellent game. He picked up an assist and had very strong underlying numbers (Corsi, etc.) 7. This win puts an exclamation point on making the playoffs. Hope we can hang on to first in the Pacific Division. 1

iinatcc
Dakota Joshua's injury is both the best thing that could happen to him and the worst thing could happen for the Canucks this off season At this rate he's probably going to get 4.5 for 4 years next off season
