At the conclusion of the draft, the Wild brass felt we could be a bubble team if everything went right for us here in Minnesota. Unfortunately that was not the case, and after a hot start where we sat top 10 in the league for a couple weeks, we quickly began falling down the standings. With some young talent on the team, Minnesota made the difficult decision to look towards the future. With potentially young elite players like Seider and Wright on the team and already established stars like Larkin and Spurgeon, we made an effort to surround those players with what we deemed our best chance at going for a cup in the next couple years. OUT: Marner, Kunin, Bjugstad, Frost, Ekholm, Barrie, Lyubushkin, Benoit, Hart, Foote, McKown, Rathbone, Willander, Leinonen, 5th round pick IN: Pettersson, Raymond, Cossa, Levi, Coronato, Soderstrom, Kulich, Crozier, Korczak, Brisebois, Johansson, Struble, Gilbert, Hutton, Zohora, Carlsson, Beaucage, 1st round pick, 2nd round pick We are hoping to see some of these players take steps forward in the offseason and push to make the Minnesota Wild. We will also be exploring any and all avenues to help stabilize the franchise and inch closer to our ultimate goal, the Stanley Cup.
