Optimist Prime Posted February 13 Share Posted February 13 The Dallas Stars are thrilled that 2019 2nd round draft pick Egor Afanasyev seems ready to play his first game of the season. In his rookie campaign, Egor played 17 games last year, notching 1 goal and 2 penalty minutes. This will be his third pro season in North America and noteworthy is that he has scored at a point per game rate in the minors thus far this season. His stock has grown from a replacement player to a middle sixer and now pushing into a top six ceiling, Egor's 6'3" frame and 200plus pounds will make him hard to move off pucks and tougher in the corners than most competition. I am looking forward to seeing what he brings to the bigs this year, after such a huge step forward in the minors. AHL thus far: 42 games played, 21 goals, 21 assists, plus24 rating and 52 penalty minutes.
