[GDT] Around the NHL [April 2024]

Recommended Posts

Seems like yesterday Winnipeg moved to Phoenix. Shane Doan was basically a rookie. 28 yrs later Doan’s  son is a rookie on same team  and  now he’s moving to Utah.

kinda sad - we won’t hear that coyote howl

 again..

You and me both.

it’s always sad when big things come to an end.

I hope the team is treated better in Salt Lake City. I’m pretty confident they will be.

Also nice to have certainty for the playoffs. Bring ‘em on!

You, you and  me too!😪  This team has become the modern day Kansas City Scouts (who I may be the only one who remembers).  That franchise went through three location changes as well:  from being the Scouts in Kansas City, to the Rockies in Colorado and finally the Devils of New Jersey.

Yes.  The only team with any incentive to win in that game will be Winnipeg; hoping to get ahead of us and earn home ice in a potential playoff match up

Then don't we have incentive to play hard enough to beat them?

If we win, we'd also pass a couple teams in the East. I think we could get 3rd overall with a win.

I still want some guys to rest, but who knows what the team they'll ice now.

Would still be nice to win Thurday and finish 3rd overall instead of 6th.......and really screw Calgary over with that 1st round pick!😆

And the 32nd pick in the 2024 NHL Draft goes to... the Calgary Flames! :towel:

That's true, actually.  That occurred to me too, right after I posted this. 😁 Not sure how much of an incentive it is for us, but I guess we'll see tomorrow.

Yep. Just hope it's a fun game, and no one gets hurt.

I think they will thrive better in SLC due to their mountain climate and SLC 2002 Winter Olympics.
But I think the expansion need to go to Quebec instead of Atlanta or Houston

they'll never go back to quebec city.. that's like one of the smallest market in canada behind winnipeg for an nhl team with a population of just over 500k.. the moment they suck the arena will be empty.. heck even winnipegs arena aint full and they are doing well

Remember when fans were freaking out we lost in OT against Arizona?

Yet the Zombie Coyotes beat Edmonton twice in their last two games.

Yip. This season, more than ever in my opinion, the games are so close. Any team can win any night. Going to be a real exciting post season and I can't wait to spend hours watching all these match-ups.

Coilers will lose in round one. McWhiner will cry like the Baby he is. Oiler fans will suffer. Alf will mock them.

Apropos of nothing, but for a ridiculous (and very lucky) stick save by Otter last night, the Canucks could be playing for 1st in the West tonight.

I'm not losing any sleep over it, but wow....

There was just over a minute left in a tie game when this happened.....

Wasn’t that in OT or no?

Oh, maybe....:classic_unsure:

TBH, I saw the headline "game saving save" and assumed it was regulation. You could be right.
