[GDT] Arizona vs Vancouver - Wednesday April 3rd - 7pt/10et - Mullet arena - SNP/650 - The Quickie Edition

Recommended Posts

This is a team they should beat, Arizona's scored a lot of goals the past three games though and has been playing .500 hockey over their last 10

Do the Canucks bounce back decisively or do they continue the habit of playing down to their oppositions level, which is a habit that's plagued them for years

Guess we'll find out

As close to a regular season 'must win' as can be. At least a "holy crap guys, you better go out and dominate this and win decisively to show everyone that you are still the Canucks of the first half of the season and should be scared to play against in the first round"

Arizona is not a playoff team, so we should be okay

Like RT said, you have to respect your opponent to give yourself a chance to win. Show no mercy on the ice. It's when we take the other team lightly that gets us into troubles with turnovers and playing a 20min game.

And just to add ...

The last time we played the Coyotes on January 18 it was a tight game. We squeaked out a 2-1 win. I was at that game.

The Coyotes were surprisingly much better than expected. They played a really good physical game and weren't pushovers.

It was surprisingly tight. Zadorov beat O'Brien's ass. Petey had a sweet goal off a set play.

But the game was close, wasn't a gimme, AND ... Demko was in net.

The Yotes are also fresh off of beating Nashville and the CBJ.

So, we "should" beat them based on where they are in the standings, and we need to bounce back, but it might not be as easy as some want it to be. Hopefully we dominate.

Arizona's in a weird place where they aren't quite a trying to tank bottom feeder but they still have work to do, they're a team looking to take steps forward

Arizona's identity has been working their asses off for a good while, they can light a team up if they're taken lightly

One of the things I did the past couple seasons, as we floundered, was watch more hockey that didn't feature the Canucks, and one thing I noticed is that Arizona would come at teams in tenacious waves

We have the talent to beat them, absolutely, but if they take them lightly ot could be a disappointing loss

That's a fine statement from Tocchet but he has to back it up by making sure "he" gets the right players out, home or away to accomplish the task at hand.

There are times you should match lines the best you can even in difficult situations. A last place team, all the way up up the best.

A reminder that this is not a national game in Canada, it is on Centre Ice and is a regional game on Sportsnet Pacific. The Canucks and Stars are separated by three points for first place in the western confernce. Sportsnet made the wrong decision to not promote the game to national status for Wednesday Night Hockey, their #2 signature night! image.gif.627c3858260987de2cd78d60cd3b6b50.gifimage.gif.9fb1d24937be420fafde8d1a170a0130.gif

Do you want Singh working the game, or an actual professional?

If it means a better chance at Shorty, it's all good.
