[PGT] Canucks at Yotes

Recommended Posts

wouldn't be surprise if the season ended today they announce EP played thru some sort of injury the last couple months. it's not just he's not playing well.. his playing style and skating seems off compared to beginning of the season.. prolly not serious enough for him to sit out because let's be real.. the canucks don't have any depth in the top 6 to afford anyone significant to be out for a while.. if that is the case.. i hope the canucks quickly squeeze out 4.5 more wins/oilers loss and just sit player for till the playoff.. realistcally 3 more is enough.. if EP is not injured i would still sit him to rest him and let him reset physically and mentally

Hot takes refurbished:

(1) Embellishment should be an automatic 1+ game suspension and a fine of up to 5% of the guys cap hit

(2) 11-7 works, but stop playing the defenseman as a forward. Focus on keeping guys rested on the back end, and then you have Juulsen instead of Zadorov out killing a crucial PK in a 1-0 game. Be more creative on offense, Tocch. It's easier with Lindholm in, for sure, and it sounds like he'll get a game or two before the playoffs, but keep it fluid. Roll three lines and add Hog/Podz with Lafferty and Suter every two rotations or if you need an energy bump.

My Saturday lines:

Hog - Petey - Boeser

Dak - Miller - Garland

Podz - Blueger - Mikheyev

Lafferty - Suter

Hughes - Hronek

Soucy - Myers

Zadorov - Juulsen

Cole

Dak-Miller-Garland is quite obviously our first line.

Appears to have been plenty of Canucks’ fans and/or Garland fans on hand…leaping out of their seats & cheering loudly after he scored his game-winning goal!

Beauty!!

Well to be honest in the last little stretch we’ve won against Buffalo, Montreal, Calgary, Anaheim and now Arizona - all non-playoff teams and lost to Vegas, LA and Dallas. Definitely not a trend I want to get used to

How many of those games did Demko start?

Teams 27th in goals per game since the all star break woof

On the flip side we have the lowest goals against in that same time frame, which will serve us a lot better in the playoffs than a high octane offense.

We need to just run Pettersson - Miller - Boeser. Get some offence from our top guys.

Get Garland and Joshua with Lindholm.

I’m happy with the win.

Yotes last game was Saturday. They put up 5 against the Rags. Canucks played Sunday and Tuesday.

Yotes also scored 8 against Nashville and 6 against Columbus. 20 goals in their last three games. You could say they’re on a bit of a heater.

Canucks held them to 8 shots in two periods and one goal.

A tidy bit of work.

This is an aspect a fair amount of people are glossing over or aren't realizing just how important it is. Yeah the offense isn't what it was at the start of the season but the defense has been on another level since the all star break.
