Jaimito
This game is not just chances converted by Kings. Thought several d men didn't play well. Z, Soucy. Even QH at times. Need Demko and Lindy back. Solid D always gives the team a chance to win. PK needs to be stellar, esp when PP isn't very good. next game is big. Not so much a statement game as a barometer of how well the team can get back to their form a month or two ago.

If Oilers go 4-2 and Canucks 2-3 they will finish a point ahead. That doesn't seem unrealistic. Going 3-2 forces Oilers to go 5-1 which is a much bigger hill to climb. With of course the one head to head game in there being huge. Oilers have two back to back yet to go as well. Its going to be very close.

Barnstorm
Both Vancouver and Edmonton have reasonable and similar travel requirements to close the season although Van. moves further out of their time zone with the flight to Winterpeg.

Yeah, only two of the Oilers remaining are away and though a back to back, just between Arizona and Colorado. Canucks have no back-to-backs and two two-day breaks but have to travel twice. Not at lot of advantage either way.

I don't give that a whole lot of weight. These guys have been traveling and playing back to backs since they were teenagers

In terms of their experience, its also why I don't buy into a bad call or whatever being the factor many people want them to be. These guys have seen that kind of stuff 100s of times and know how to play through.
Future Considerations
3 hours ago, Bob Long said: With Demko and Lindy's defensive skills, and the team not taking LA lightly, I like our chances. Yeah I'm not too impressed with LA's game, but it is opportunistic. Canucks will bring a total game and their sticks are due to start heating up again soon 1

DeNiro
Watching the Stars/Avs game and Ferraro touched on the importance of having your goalie dialed in and not playing nervous. When your goalie is shaky it affects the whole team. We’ve seen it before. A goalie making a big save can give a boost to the rest of the team and they can just relax and play their game. When they’re worried any shot could be in the back of their net they play tentative and nervous. That’s the real game changing ability Demko brings. He calms the team down. DeSmith isn’t bringing that right now.
OldFaithfulcap
I have our playoff song ready, it's so obvious but it fits. It's a progression, it even mentions the damn prize. I hope the Canucks DJ has the same idea.

And people who have played the game at a high level know this is true and understand the psychological dynamics when your starter is out and the backup is struggling. The team will play differently in front of a healthy Demko. It's not the entire picture but it is significant.

Heck, playing beer league, a crappy goalie affects the whole team.
Hairy Kneel
One thing Smyl or Ronning could work on the pk with is ragging the puck. Rather than throwing the puck blindly into the offensive zone at the blue line, have a peek, and if you have a outlet in your own zone shoot it back. Then let them ice it while you change. There's ways we can eat up more time before turning it over. Lost art of ragging the puck.
DeNiro
Perfect example of what Ferraro was talking about is happening. Georgiev not making the big saves and the Avs are running around playing scrambly now.
