So what's going to be the narrative of the wet blanket brigade?

- Petey is too expensive?

- Canucks will lose in 4 in the first round?

- The team will lose everyone as UFA's?

I might have misunderstood what the wet blanket brigade is but as I understand it You have already begun so let’s what it is.

Lindy at 2 mill, Lindy get tossed out of the circle and so on…  This quote from you agreeing with Hockey Guy”

agree with The Hockey Guy though. The Canucks are playing with house money in the Playoffs. Even the most staunch fan thought at best we might make the playoffs.”

Some of you may have seen my goofy post about Canucks and numerology and FOURs the other night after Brock got his 40th and Garly played his 400th...

Tonight we dispatched the Coilers for the 4th time in a game where 4 goals were scored

Coincidence?

Oh I think NOT

And the word goal has 4 letters in it too

Just sayin'

🤣

Lindholm is a stud. Wait, better check those +/- stats first.

3 points in his last four games, none of them on the power play and  a combined plus1 over that stretch. 55% faceoff wins last night.

I would say that is a good job. I am fine with him and hope we can re-sign him cheap.

What a pretty picture.

There is no easy way out of the west but our path looks the best.
Nashville, Edmonton/LA.
Lined up well if this is how finishes.
Now just have to win the games.

Round One:

We beat Preds (in 5)

Knights beat Stars (in 7)

Jets beat Avs (in 5)

Kings beat Soilers (SWEEPAROO!)

What happened Alf. I thought it was 105 points this year. You must have forgot it was a leap year and ran short on scotch.

Last Year:

"Hey this Spencer Martin guy is a good back up goalie"

Demko gets hurt and Martin has to play a bunch of games.

" Hey this Martin guy sucks, try the other guy"

This year

" Hey this DeSmith guy is a great back up goalie"

Demko gets hurt and DeSmith has to play a bunch of games.

"HEy this DeSmith guy sucks, play the other guy"

Other guy comes in, plays well for a few games, then tails off.

"Hey Silov's not all that good, play DeSmith"

DeSmith plays well for a few games after a few days rest.

TLDR?-- back up goalies are back up goalies- usually because they can't play more than 3-4 games in a row, without starting to breakdown.

Don’t rule out Vegas sneaking in that 3 spot still.

If they can beat Colorado today and LA loses to Minny the Knights last two games should be auto wins.

I'm ok with Lindholm at $2-3 million. The more he plays here, the better I think he will get. He may never get to 82 points again (But we can hope). But 40-60 points a season is not out of the question. The proof will be the playoffs.

But yes Mik I think that is the piece that has to be moved. Along with one of Cole or Myers.

Lindholm tells you to pound sand before walking out of the room if that's your offer. He is worth considerably more than 3M and will be expecting considerably more.

He’s only going to improve. Not all players gel with a new team in a hurry.

Which is when Clark comes in and takes over with them. Then they come back and are stellar.

As back up goalies- yes. Until they get played like starters, and then they breakdown again.

Perhaps next year the team won't over play Demko, he doesn't get injured, and the back up goalies don't have to play too many games.

Didn't his "ask" with Calgary start with an 8?

I believe and with good reason to that Lindholm will be resigned along with Big Zeke, Meyers and Honker. Throw Joshua into the mix as well. All depends on money and term of course but PA/JR seem to be wizards on most of their moves so far. Now if they could squeeze Honker under $6.75M AAV, Big Zeke under $5M, Dak under $2M and Lindholm with a 2-year "show me" contract (YES, I HEAR THE LAUGHTER FROM MY PLACE) then we would be brushing off a spot on sidewalk outside the arena for a statues in the future.

I expect a player or two moving out or not being on the roster at all to add a bit more cap space, exciting times Canucks Nation, exciting times indeed.

Hronek is going to be the interesting one. With Hanifin coming in at 7.35 x 8 I don't think the Canucks will go higher than that.

Ideally they keep;

Hronek

Joshua

Lindholm

Zadorov

Then see if we have enough to make Tanev work, or else Myers, but it'll be tight for sure.
