I think as a right shot, mobile, close to, if not already elite defencmen... He'll want and can get 7 mill for 5 years or 6.5 at 7 no? So if Pesce can get say 45.5 over 7 years (6.5 per, taking him to 37 years old) vs Hronek (already proven to fit well with Hughes) 60 over 8 years (7.5 per, taking him to 35. Which is a more guaranteed smart signing? Not so sure... Unless you can get Pesce for 6 or under I think I'd go with Hronek (IF he stays 7.5 or under). Hronek isn't as physical as I was hoping he'd be. So alternatives at a lesser price with MORE physicality would be an improvement. 2

So do you think he could be had for say 6.5 to 7 over 6-8 years? 6-6.5 maybe, with term Esp if he can be partnered with Huggy. Maybe a 2 year contract and renegotiate after 2 seasons collecting mega points with Huggy.

Popular Post Smashian Kassian
It's been an incredible season. Wouldn't have predicted Pacific Division champs but here we are, right on the verge. It's been so much fun to be a fan again and it looks like a window is just opening for us. Hopefully they come out strong & put a bow on it against Calgary. 8

I like him, just no stupid number AAV please Edited April 15 by Rekker 2

Hogs and Podz
I wonder how much Willander's development and when they project him arriving and who they see him play with? Could that play a factor in the Hronek signing?

A good problem to have to deal with I think willander would make any UFA signings older guys on shorter term, like bringing Myers back for 2 years or going after Tanev for 2 years

CanuckMan
Hronek when separated from Hughes has not been as noticeable. If he was able to carry his own pairing I would pay him 8M, but because he seems only effective with Hughes he should get no more than 7M if we want to build this team the right way. Mika, though not an offensive dynamo, is seemingly at the cusp of bringing offence into his repertoire. He's been at the right place at the right time on many occasions lately. But as we all know, he's not been able to finish. He's also made some good moves to create offence for his line mates as well. All in all, he seems to be getting his speed back. Now he's just gotta put it together. Hopefully in the playoffs! 12 hours ago, Rocket-68 said: I believe and with good reason to that Lindholm will be resigned along with Big Zeke, Meyers and Honker. Throw Joshua into the mix as well. All depends on money and term of course but PA/JR seem to be wizards on most of their moves so far. Now if they could squeeze Honker under $6.75M AAV, Big Zeke under $5M, Dak under $2M and Lindholm with a 2-year "show me" contract (YES, I HEAR THE LAUGHTER FROM MY PLACE) then we would be brushing off a spot on sidewalk outside the arena for a statues in the future. I expect a player or two moving out or not being on the roster at all to add a bit more cap space, exciting times Canucks Nation, exciting times indeed. It's a given in the position we'll be in come off season. We're gonna lose some bodies. Likely some significant ones unfortunately. Needless to say, the resigning scenarios involving said players above are certainly a concern. AAV, salary, contract discussions will go on now till playoffs are done. It's like the Petey thing this past season; will he? Won't he? 12mil? Team friendly good guy? Why? Why not? Blah, blah, blah!!!!! 11 hours ago, Rip The Mesh said: Just looking at our cap for this year's ending. Alvin has work to do if he wants to keep the squad largely intact. There is one guy I'm sure they'd like to trade but he's not going to be easy to move, solves a fair bit if they could. Echoing what I said above but in addition I would add; The playoffs could change the perspective of players we seemingly so desperately wanna keep. I'm of the opinion that our Canucks will show what they got and be the team we've been seeing all season and then some. Every player's skillsets and individual talents will be amplified to volume 11! (Well. They should be!) Daks, Blueger, Myers, Zads, and oh yea. Hronek, are priorities. Their performances this season has already proved their worth to this team. And we've discussed how they're already possibly gonna price themselves out of Vancouver. Their playoff performances, be they stellar could also play a role in further making it impossible to resign. There is an upside though. Of course we have more cap available if we lose a few bodies this summer. (And we will!) That obviously provides us more funds to hunt down comparable pieces to fit in via free agency. The other upside is guys like Mika, Lafferty, Podz, PDG, Aman have a great playoff and become interesting to other teams. At the very least returning valuable draft picks, promising prospects, and/or more big bodies! I dunno. What do I know. Maybe I'm blowing wind out my backside. It's too early to speculate such things. Honestly? I'm jonesin' for the playoffs to start. Go Canucks Go!!! O 3 1

I don’t think he gets 8 but it’ll land in the 7s. Lindholm I could see getting in the 5s or low 6s. Still probably priced off of our team, but he isn’t getting what he was asking for from Calgary.
