Isles have been cooked for a long time.

Lou Lam doesn’t seem to realize it though.

They came from well out of the playoffs to 3rd in the division from January. Their downfall tonight was sitting on the lead. Carolina is too good to take the foot off the gas.

Wow, I thought they'd find a way to bring it home. They turned it up and controlled the final period, you're not gonna win many games if you allow the other team to dominate your zone.

Isles have one shot in the third, Canes have fifteen. Which is a shame, Varlamov probably deserved better than this. If the Isles had kept the pressure on they probably would have won.

Them making it has more to do with the teams around them choking.

You don’t come back from that far back just cause other teams choked. Especially not third in the division. If they were 2nd wild card that point might be a bit valid.

Can't believe the goofball narratives around Vancouver continue to such insane degrees

Buddy saying Isles taking foot off the gas in Raleigh is "just like Nashville did in Vancouver  last night"

Did dude even watch  our game? What a tool

Sat on the lead took the foot off the gas and paid for it big time

Wonder if they turn to Sorokin next game, Canes dominated that final frame and outshot the Isles every period. Giving up three goals in seven minutes doesn't look good but goaltending is actually what's held the Isles in each of the first two games. Varlamov is the last guy I'd be blaming tonight.

If the Isles want to stretch this series they're going to have to find a way to spend more time in the Canes zone, and get more shots on net.

Yeah Nashville was generating some chances all night NYI just stopped playing offensively after the first goal.
