I'm sure it'll come out once they're eliminated, but everything's pointed to it being related to illness, or more so a health complication related to illness by the sounds of it

geez it must be pretty bad.

On a side note, Emily Kaplan is a good reporter.

It's a bummer, as much as I enjoy watching the Leafs lose it feels like more of a forgone conclusion this go round. Nylander not being able to play those first few games for health reasons, Matthews not being able to play, that really hurts their chances.

Injuries are part of the playoffs and always have been, but having both guys be healthy all season only to be struck down by illness has got to smart. I've been rooting for them to get punted, but I can only imagine the reaction if it were Hughes and Boeser being out due to illness.

And she is.

Well, we are missing Demko (a Vezina candidate), and Petey is pretty much MIA when it comes to offence, so we're not far off the Laffs lol

Well... imagine having that almighty top four with all that high end talent... imagine having that for almost the entire year... and then losing half of those guys in the playoffs.

I almost feel bad for them.

No chance Boston blows another 3-1 series lead, right?

That would actually be better than leafs getting another first round loss or game 7 loss.

Dog and pony show with Keefe.  Trying to save his job after they are out.

Tocchet won't let cameras in the locker room like that in an elimination game.

Shot Clock in the NHL is now driving me nuts constantly adjusting the number of shots.

Toronto plays better without Matthews.

Nylander at least blocks shots.

I bet Boston's coach is going to blow his stack at his players.

I suggest an investigative reporter- like Rick Westhead, look into the shot counts.

Likely a shit ton of money being wagered on shots, and with the NHL being 'partners' with practically every gambling bookie site-- they have a vested interest in keeping the money flowing-- to their partners pockets. Then the gambling sites can afford to buy commercial time, and afford to get the coveted "Partner' status from the league.

I won't cheer for the Leaves. The thought of them having success (going to the SCF) and then I'm assuming, ruining every sports show on TV going on and on about how good the Leaves are, doesn't sit well with me. I enjoy their failure.

Besides, the Bruins won't get passed the Panthers

Got home started watching at start of 2nd period.

Looks like Leafs playing great defensive hockey. Only 4 SOG against ... wow... that doesn't seem like Leafs hockey..

Let's go Leafs. Get this in 7
