This times a 1000! Big guys like that can't stop/start and such like smaller men. As such, need to play in a system of position more. When Myers played bad, it was because he was trying to play hap hazard Defense.

Yup, exactly. Bigger players are limited mobility wise especially stops and starts. They re-programmed him to stand in front of his net unless he can 100% get to a puck and do something safe with it and get it out of our end.

So easy of a concept yet often big players just can't see how slow they are themselves unless someone shows them. Fortunately that's not being done with a puck in the back of our net anymore. 😉

Petey needs to get going, Lindholm is doing what Kesler did against other teams top player to open up chances for our top guys, That needs to be taken advantage of.

im genuinely terrified of that 11 million dollar contract

petey can be so dominant but the fact that he can just disappear for months is wild for a guy getting paid what he is

Joshua-Lindholm-Garland are a huge piece of our team play. Not only did they get on the score sheet but they also match the preds top line of Forsberg-ROR-Nyquist and held them to 3 shots all game. Not bad at all and they might just be our wildcard.

Suter-Miller-Boeser played alright too. It’s Hoglander-Peterson-Lafferty/Mikheyev that need to heat it up. If they get going we will steam roll the Preds.

I think my favourite part of this was watching the players come down the tunnel post game and nobody is smiling. They know this is going to be a grind and as awesome as it was to win game one there is way more work to do before we celebrate. Enjoy the journey boys!

Every playoffs a 3rd line emeges as a huge factor. Fingers crossed we have that one this year.

Im trying to think of a better game Myers has played as a Canuck.  We might have seen his best game so far.

Funny reading X/Twitter this morning - leaf fans lamenting about letting Dakota Joshua go (was a Toronto 5th round pick traded to St Louis).  He kid of represents everything that team is lacking right now lol.

I agree Myers were great

But people just have it out for him.

Every game I've been tok this year and last night included you can count on fans yelling "what was that Myers" "of course that's Myers" etc.

Myers is a beauty. Him Zad and Soucy were noticeable intimidating last night

Kesler had zero goals 1st round in 2010-11. He Exploded in the second round. That's what we need, team effort

Pavel "Russian Rocket" Bure was quiet for most of the Flames round 1 series in 1994 until Game 7 when he exploded as well.  From there on, the Rocket had lifted off the pad and nothing was stopping him.  There's hope for Petey... there's so much talent there.

It's a fine line though because big guys can also be exploited by quick skaters if they're not exceptional skaters as well.  Fortunately, all the big guys on the Canucks d are also very good skaters, Myers especially
