You're just making it worse for Petey when he has linemates that aren't helping. Agree with he's got something going on with his body that he's playing through. @RU SERIOUS , at this point it's the only logical thing. It might be pressure too (mental), but do believe he's lost a little of his speed (or isn't using it), and his shot is not the same. Tochett said pre-game that they just want him to shoot the puck, shoot it, when he's got it ... but he's still passing. Wrist or shoulder is my guess, and maybe something else on the lower body. If the drop-off after the All-Star game were less obvious, then I would say maybe not an injury, but how do you explain the way he took over games in the first half and now has no confidence in his shot, nor any burst. I doubt he has less interest now than he did two months ago, it has to be physical. You can see the frustration, it seems like he's not physically right. He played a few years ago with a badly injured wrist, which stole his shot, but he was not taking faceoffs, so he played through it. This seems like a leg or lower back problem, it's robbed him of his shot and any speed, but he's still taking and winning face-offs. All the carry pom about having to be the best in the world for his salary may also be part of it. He tries to be too cute at times... I definitely think part of it is between the ears... If everything else fails, maybe its time to put him back on Millers wing instead... the Lotto line looked good, when reunited, and the thirst line, could easily cover the 2nd line duties. All the talk about who would be the best opponent in the play offs were nonsense... you play, who you get... they all have a reason why they are amongst the last 16... and any team coming flying into the play offs with a record like Preds did, have to be paid attention to... I'm sure we'll go through. The team knows it laid an egg, just like Nashville probably felt after game 1. If we hadn't been creating chances, I'd be concerned, but we created enough to win a game or two... Credit where credit is due... Nashville fought for their lives with blocks and stick etc... Perhaps that comes into play. There does seem to be some evidence of nerves and such. They did seem to be holding their sticks too tight and somewhat off in game 2. I am not worried about our play other than the PP. I am worried about losing Demko but the process was there last night, the effort was there, we hit a hot goalie and had some bad luck.
