Yeah I wouldn't be happy either, that was one of our worst efforts in a long time. Generated nothing, lost so many puck battles, too many odd man rushes against. Our skill took over but that's not a good long term recipe for the playoffs. Let the boys enjoy the win, fly back home then rip them in training. I know they created 2 goals as a result of them, but we've got to stop those cross crease passes and simplify things. We're trying too many slap passes as well. No. It's emotions and why we love the game. Your high, low, appreciative and critical. It's sports. Popular Post -dlc-
I love it, I knew it. Tried to call my Dad to celebrate with him....no answer. I had a sneaking suspicion that he'd turned the game off before it was over and went outside. Correct. So when I just called to tell him we won....what an awesome reaction. He was so happy. Giddy happy. Asked if they're replaying the game so he can watch the ending. He shuts the game off for the right reasons...it's hard on his health when we're losing. Especially when Petey and Quinn are getting knocked around....he hates that. But he never slams the team...he's always on board, win and lose. What a great time to be a Canuck fan. I wish I had tickets (Dad just told me he's going to buy me a season ticket for next year) 10 3 3
TopCheese
i really think we should be riding silovs desmiths a vet but his rebound control and poise is not good we need to close this series out and rest the boys 1

Blue
No shot attempt in this game by Petterson. He's a streaky guy and his cold as almighty fuck right now. I don't think there's anything more to it than that. 1

We can "if this happened" all of game 2. We still have a 3-1 series lead if we won the games we "deserved" to win and they won the games they "deserved" to win. We lost our starter and our backup. It ain't about what you deserve, it's about what you earn. The team battled to the end and earned this victory. People just can't help but rain on every parade they see. Wins a win baby. They all count the same at the end of the day. Deserve is for those who don't earn it. They showed why you should never give up! 1 1 2

Well I don't see it that way at all. To me, it's the Preds that didn't deserve to win that game, because they choked on their smugness and lost the game. 1 2

We're letting 3 minutes of good hockey distract us from the fact that it was probably our worst effort so far. Even last game where we only had 12 shots we were actually better defensively. And he's also absolutely correct that some guys need to wake up if we want to have a fighting chance in the next round(s). We all know who they are by now. My concern is Petey and Hronek. If they are fighting the flu, or Petey has long covid or something I'd understand. I want Petey to go nuts and get a hat trick himself on game 5. 1 3

1-d
54 minutes ago, DownUndaCanuck said: Dreadful game by us all game long, the Preds played with great structure in the neutral zone and won just about every puck battle and we generated zilch all game long. We've been the worse team in the last 2 games get find a way thanks to top end talent. Obviously Brock was massive tonight and has been all playoffs, he had potential to disappear but played a monstrous game. Miller with some very nifty passes and shots as well. Suter could have scored 2 but just isn't good enough to be on a top line. Petey with another sad game, left his man alone at the point on the first goal against and just generated nothing. I think we should put him on the wing somewhere on our lineup because he's just not looking good with all that extra defensive responsibility as a center. Hoglander and Mikheyev had some nice grinding shifts and chances but nothing amazing. I thought Garland, Joshua and Lindholm sucked all night long, one of their worst games in a while, then they go out and get a classic grinding cycle bump out front goal to win the game. Our 4th line was our best line all game, PDG, Lafferty and Blueger were the only ones who generated chances out of nothing and won their fair share of puck battles. On defence we were fairly tidy apart from a few odd man rushes against which all came from us unable to get through the neutral zone. Hughes looked gassed and was dominated all night, then makes a play like that at the end to clear the empty bet crease and put Nyqvist to sleep to tie the game. Hronek had a decent game apart from that stumble which lead to the 3rd goal. Cole, Myers, Zadorov and Soucy were all extremely solid. Silovs looked more steady than DeSmith to be honest, he didn't give up as many rebounds and looked much calmer so I'd honestly start him for the next game. He faced far harder shots against than Casey. I had a feeling one of these inexperienced goalies could take the ball and run with it and every now and then you hear of a rookie going on a mad run, and I think Silovs could do just that. On the whole, dreadful game by us but our quality came out on top and somehow unravelled the Preds. Up 3-1 is massive, let's close this out at home and get some much needed rest. Excellent observations and on-point game summary!
