Gee I wonder what’s on this guy’s mind.

Surely he’s not complaining about the referees.

Anyone else find it funny he's standing in front of a 'Hairclub' ad?

Interesting to hear a player say the quiet part out loud, because it's true, guys aren't out there trying to end careers but there are benefits to breaking down your opponents

Full quote is “people don’t want to say it, but part of playoffs is trying to hurt every player on the other team,” Marchand continued. “And the more guys you take out, the more of an advantage you have. People don’t say that, but that’s just a fact of the game. Every time you step out on the ice, someone’s trying to hurt someone.”

What he is saying is 100% true...

“People don’t want to say it but part of the playoff is trying to hurt every player on the other team. And the more guys you take out, the more advantage your team has. People don’t say that, but that’s just a fact of the game. So every time you step on the ice, someone is trying to hurt someone and that’s just how it goes in the playoffs. That’s part of the benefit of having a physical group. That’s why you see teams go the distance with a big D-core and physical teams. And it’s why you rarely see teams that are small and skilled go far, because they get hurt,” Marchand added.

This is why Allvin went out and got a big D-core.  JR/PA know what it takes to be Stanley Cup champs...

And this is why re-signing Zadorov is so crucial for us...

It's no a coincidence that bigger D are important come playoff time, but quality is important too. It's felt like I've been saying the Canucks need to allocate more of their cap space to their defense the past few years and they've finally gone about doing so. Hopefully this trend continues, build from the net out, even if that means you've got to replace some of your bottom six with more cost effective forwards.

I think I'd prefer to see a BOS-NYR conference final, an original six matchup.

Me too.

That way we get to have some revenge on one of them, when we get to the cup this. year.
