Don’t think that’s true.

For him to go to Abby he will need to clear waivers. They won’t be able to put him on waivers for another 5 days.

Crap! You make sense. We can’t send waiver eligible guys down until the waiver period starts. Is that right?

If he can't beat out the likes of Noah Juulsen, Cole McWard and Filip Johansson then he doesn't really deserve to be on the team and probably will never make it.  Also, if he can't make the Canucks as an 8th Dman then who exactly is going to claim him?  In order to claim a player that player needs to make the 23 man roster...

Obviously he's decent in Abbotsford and a scoring threat, but even there, his defensive play, or lack there of, costs the team.

We have five days though, right? Do play Woo every game until that time. If he proves he’s ready now then make room for him. If he still needs to move along his runway of development (and he still has a long runway left to grow) then send him down at the last moment before the five days is up,

There are 3 games before the 12-day period begins.  So, we play Woo in the first 3 games and then what?  If he can't crack the lineup he isn't making it anyways.  This is pretty much his last kick at the can.  He is not an Allvin guy.  We got McWard, drafted Willander and other RHD.  Traded for Hronek and will probably go after more RHD next summer.

Yes unless McWard and Johansson make it this year , even if they stay after a call up.

That might be true.  There is nothing that confirms that but it does make sense that a waiver eligible player cannot be sent to Abby until the waiver period commences...

So pumped for Hockey again !!!!

Let's hope we have a decent preseason this year instead of the terrible ones of the past few years. Don't care if we don't win every game but I wanna see some performances especially from the fringe players and those with something big to prove ( e.g everyone not names, Petey, JT, Demmer and Cpt Hugster).

Let's take the momentum from Abby and the Young Stars and run that into the season and all the way to a Cup ( maybe in a few years lol ) !! Go Canucks Go !!!!

Except Woo has a lot of runway left and Juulsson has nothing left. McWard still had runway but he’s more an offensive minded D. Do we have another young Right Shot D like Woo? Big, tough, skilled, mean, smart, and lots of runway of development still to come?

Yes, at the beginning of the season almost everyone is healthy and every team is struggling to make final roster cuts.  There is just not much room on NHL rosters at that time. Therefore, most "bubble" players will clear waivers even if they are good enough to maybe get claimed if there were sent down later in the season.

In the last few days before the season starts, I think the Canucks could send Woo or Juulsen down without much worry about a waiver claim. I think Brisebois, Wolanin and Irwin would probably clear as well. It would be great if one of those guys can really establish himself as a good NHL level D instead of just a bubble or fringe guy.

They have been playing Petey D on RD in the SHL, even though he's a lefty.

You guys see our lineup tonight?

I expect to see 2 or 3 out of the 22 guys on our opening night roster.

I'm actually happy about it, but expect to get spanked by Calgary who is icing more then half of their regulars and their top 6 forwards, and top 3 d-men.

Also it's Silovs vs Marky.

I can’t find anything that confirms this either, but NYR has assigned a player to the minors from training camp today.

He appears to be ineligible for waivers

I hope tochett gets the vets playing the rest of the preseason games. They need to get the main core moving as soon as possible. Filter in the youth with the vets, see who fits. Last 2 years they played all preseason games  with Abby’s roster. Both way crap starts to the season

For sure. Did the vets have a chance to practice in Victoria today?
