If we know they are Abby bound, why are we playing them? This is NHL preseason, not AHL preseason.

 

This is why we have slow starts in October.

That's a boot licking comment if I've ever seen one lmao. The other guy has a point, in a high intensity market like Vancouver, that has been on the losing side for a decade with little evidence of improvement, coaches don't have the luxury of "long term" thinking. Its time for some results. Coaches should be focusing on getting the team prepped for the regular season. Let the AHL staff worry about the development of our prospects, as is their job.

 

Development camps and young stars tournies and such are where the NHL staff can get a look at our prospects.

I question the decision to run up the score on a much less experienced squad.

On top of that they took a beating for it. 3 guys left the game, one of them a star player who could have been seriously injured there, all before it even matters.

It’s not an overreaction to be very disappointed in this team today. I feel they should go with whatever roster they ended of the year with last year. Send everybody packing back to the ahl get the main team going. Worry about your replacements and development in Abbotsford get the main team, focussed and stop pissing around every year the same results, definition of crazy is doing the same thing over and expecting a different result. Yeah we’ve changed the coaches but each coach does the same shit I’ve had enough, time to be professionals and do a good job. I’d rather watch peewee team than this team right now. Pfft a definite disaster

They have 5 more preseason games to tune-up.  Wait a minute, there's nothing to tune-up their game if their A team is not playing tonight.   I think they'll ice a B-team squad for Oilers and save up their A team for Seattle game.    Better option here, short trip and save their energy for brutal start to the season schedule-wise.
