MikeyD
52 minutes ago, Curmudgeon said: I honestly don't get all the Podz love that is happening in this thread. He did nothing for Abbotsford in the playoffs and scored no goals in 19 games with Vancouver this season. He's like a hamster on a treadmill; he goes everywhere at 100 miles an hour but never gets anywhere. And he can't put the puck in the ocean with a dump truck. Just exactly what does he bring that can make a difference in a tight series? Because he provides a forecheck. Also to be fair, most of his time up with Vancouver is him playing with linemates that can't complete anything he generates for him. People want Podz up but they don't want him up playing on the 4th line. They just know he will be an improvement over say a Mikheyev. 1
NucksIn50
I think there was one adjustment that Coach Tocchet could have made in the 3rd period since McD and Dry were on the ice every other shift, I would have liked to see Miller-Lindy-Boes as line against them put Suter-Petey-Mik, then Blueger with Gar and Dak. PDG/Laff/Hogz wherever whenever, but the 3 lines was all we needed. im confident we adjust to a simple, meet pressure with pressure type of game and crush the Oil tomorrow! Go Canucks 1

Im assuming the video was done correctly (even though some players are out of the screen) Would love to see it though. Even Ron McLean said it wasn’t. They shot themselves in the foot more than the oilers took the game to us. Although it does show us that when we make mistakes, they're a deadly team that will capitalize. steviewonder20
I’d love to know what Sutherland said to Hughes about not calling a penalty as blood was running down his cheek. Seriously, what possible excuse would he have provided?
canucks curse
U you shut down mcdavid and oil are screwed to me that comes down to: 1. coaches make a good plan 2. execute we have been too soft on mcdavid and there needs to be more miller and Hughes match up to mcdavid and mess “by committee” we cannot have Soucy, Cole, Myers trying to play against mcD

They're done as soon as Mcdavid is done. If we find ourselves down 3-1 going into the 3rd period next game, I'd be ok with that. If they slew foot Hughes, spear Hogz and run Petterson from behind, I don't see why we can't do the same.

Forget McDavid. The key is Drasitle which is already somewhat hurt with bad back. Pummel Drasitle and take him out. Without Drasitle, McDavid is not as dangerous as we have proven to shut him down completely if McDavid is by himself in game 1.

And he is already banged up. Without Draisaitl, the Oiler PP is nowhere near as effective.
