Rocket-68
https://www.canucksdaily.com/nhl-team/vancouver-canucks/nhl-to-review-soucy-response-to-connor-mcdavid-two-handed-slash Came across my feed that Big Zeke has been fined $5,000 but trying to find the article to link. Anyone find anything related? A phone hearing probably means a 1 game suspension since it is McJesus that took the hit. I guess Huggy doesn't rate on that scale for the slash to the face he took from McDavid. Edited May 13 by Rocket-68
Popular Post Jess
Fined for dumping Kane or for the cross check at the end of the game? I presume the cross check. I'll be honest, I do think that is worthy of a fine. I think Soucy's hit looked worse because McDavid was already going down from Zadorov's hit and it sorta hit him in the face. In my opinion, a fine is adequate for Zadorov, but I wouldn't give anything to Soucy. Still think Ryan should've been fined as well for his nut shot in game 2. Regardless, fines don't really impact our experience as fans too much. 3 1 5

Popular Post King Heffy
Anything more than a fine for Soucy and there needs to be serious pressure on the NHL to clean up the corruption. 2 1 1
Popular Post Ballisticsports
Didn't this all come about because of McDavids 2 hander slash? Canucks were happy to win, If McDavid hadn't instigated, there would have been no infractions, so why isn't he involved in this meeting? 6 3

Yeah, seems dumb to me. The hit's location was a victim of circumstance. 1

Popular Post gwarrior
So there was nothing for the nut shot? Nothing for kane's slew foot? And that is getting a suspension? What is that smell? Oh yeah, it's bullshit!!!!! 2 2

whcanuck
I’m just assuming they’ll suspend him for at least a game, does the NHL ever make the right decision? How much of an impact does Soucy make? Is his loss fairly noticeable?
Snoop Hogg
I hope Soucy lays into the league and it’s officials during the hearing. 2
fanfor42
Glad the pricks didn't suspend both Z and Soucy. That would have been complete nonsense. As long as it is no more than 1 game for Soucy, then Juulsen goes in for Soucy and memo to Cole quit tipping pucks into your own net and we will be fine. 2 1
Popular Post Wilbur
Honestly, you can't fine Zadorov and suspend Soucy and let McDavid off scott free (well I guess you can...). If Zadorov's crosscheck is worthy of a fine, so is McDavid's slash. 6 1 1 5 3 3

Soucy will get a 1 game for cross checking poster-boy, while he was falling, even though there's no way to prevent it since Z was cross checking McDinkus in the kidneys F it. Worth it to see McWhiner take one in the chops, whiney prick. 7 4 1

It does hurt us a little bit, Juuls has been good but he's not Soucy. But a Cole-Juuls pairing should be adequate and they likely play Hughes extra minutes. It doesn't fundamentally change anything about our approach, and in fact might give the guys a little extra motivation to pick Soucy up, and tell the league to f-off at the same time given the non-calls from game 2.
Popular Post OldFaithfulcap
Typical bs, hopefully it's a warning, unlikely. 1 game max please. Hopefully juulsen comes in ready to smash
VanOriginal
I suspect Soucy will get a game, which is bullshards, Usually phone hearings are for suspensions of 1 to 3 games I believe or a fine greater than the 5k Big Z...

I'd pair Zad with Juules. They were a plus 5 in the 4 games they played as a duo, with a combined 57 hits (Or something like that - I don't really remember, but I do remember oppo skating very gingerly when they were on the ice together) 1

Soucy will be suspended, the question is, for how long. There's an argument to be made that his intention was to push him and that he was aiming high chest but the hit from Zadorov dropped him lower and it was all timing. The exchange that I saw was, McDavid was right there, Soucy give him a little push and McDavid responded with a 2 handed slash (which he should probably get a fine for, but won't) then Soucy was just about to crosscheck McDavid in the chest, but the hit from Zadorov altered trajectory of where it landed. I'm hoping 1 game, I'm expecting NHL will decide to make an example and do like 3 games. They only like to set an example when it's Canucks involved. There could have been a fine to Kane after game 2 for a dangerous slew foot on Hughes, but nothing.
