I heard that too. Bigger deal was Hronek + Mik for Necas + Kotkaniemi

Ya I just heard the Canucks conversation one of

hogalnder hronek mik + a pick

for

kotka Necas Morrow

The Canes only have 39 years Brent Burns for a top four right side D. They’d pay a lot to get Hronek.

that still leaves us two top 6 wingers short

---Petey Necas

--- Miller Brock

I’m not advocating for it. I don’t think it’s likely either that exact mix.

would be nice to slam dunk win a trade like:

Hronek (premium RD young in prime top pairing 2 way D who we are trying to keep and trading only if $ not reasonable)

VAN 3rd 2024

FOR

 CAR for 1st 2024

Necas (a player they do not want at pretty much any reasonable price)

I can’t help but think Guentzel is just the perfect piece for our PP but I think longer term Necas at evens would be unreal with a petey.

in the scenario we acquire Necas but sign lindholm we’d technically have. Top 6 but it would be split to three duos of

petey-Necas

miller-boeser

lindholm-Garland

would be pretty interesting.

just no LH bumper shot on PP1 I’m not sure how a Pp unit of

hughes

miller

petey

boeser

necas

runs as we really did do well with that LH bumper shot. Maybe there is a way where it works even better than I could imagine.

And then we’d see PA flip that pick for another really good player. Kind of like he did with the Fat Wallet assets.

There more to hockey then points. He was our most physical player on the team plus he was a key penalty killer. A good blend of power and skill.  Meshed with Garland. If we could could lock him up with term at a reasonable dollar why wouldn't it make sense?

Casey Cizikias deal in NYI says hi, locked up bottom 6 forward

All of these predictable scenarios on what the most unpredictable team will do this summer are boring.

here is a bold prediction.

Elias Pettersson (the forward) will be traded this summer.

I think his Tendinitis excuse pissed people off, his fear of battle in the playoffs. I think they’re going to make a splash.

Utah

Chicago

Carolina

Minnesota

Ottawa

Buffalo

This might not be a popular opinion, but I think Canucks need to walk from Dakota Joshua.

Realistically, Joshua is gonna want close to $4M AAV.  That's a LOT of cap tied up on our 3rd line between Garland and Joshua.  I'd argue Garland is the play driver of that 3rd line.  I suspect if Podkolzin was on the line with Blueger and Garland, it would still be pretty effective.

I'd much rather take that $4M and add a bit more to it to have a true top 6F added to the mix IN ADDITION to Lindholm being re-signed.

I made a post in the proposal section about this, and I'd target William Karlsson out of VGK.  They are so tight to the cap and are likely gonna lose Marchessault and Stephenson if they don't move cap out.  A Hoglander for Karlsson deal would help both teams tremendously.

Our top 6 for 2024/25:

Karlsson-Lindholm-Pettersson

Suter-Miller-Boeser
