4petesake
That’s two. Michael McLeod, one of five former members of Canada's 2018 world junior hockey team charged with sexual assault, has signed a one-year contract to play Kazakhstan's Barys Astana of the Russian KHL, the team says. On July 1, The Hockey News reported that fellow accused Dillon Dubé, who used to play for the Calgary Flames, had signed a deal to play with KHL team Dinamo Minsk, which is based in Belarus. Are McLeod and Dube allowed to leave Canada before the conclusion of their trials?

This seems like it shouldn't be ok, especially to countries that won't extradite.
Drizzt
One can only hope they get drafted. And I don't mean to play hockey.
kettlevalley
This is a slippery slope though. Professional athletes with a short career window being presumed guilty before the trial and (in at least Carter Hart's case) costing them millions of dollars when it is possible they did nothing wrong. Also possible we never really find out. I guess these players only ever play for the Oilers now anyway.

snowman955
My best guess is the NHL sticks to their guns. Other associations don't have to. It's sad that they are not going to pursue a career path that they worked for. Bite the bullet.
