GDT - CANUCKS vs OILERS. GAME 6 - Finish Them! 5pm PST.

Recommended Posts

Whoa boys let's chill, this is one of many games. Both teams will be super motivated. Our boys need to be laser focused and methodical throughout the game.

May the force be with the Canucks!

Garland’s going to be instrumental tomorrow. He’ll have the puck tied up on the boards and be working from his office behind the net.

I have Gnarly Gnome predicted for the GWG (would thus be the Series-clinching goal, too)

Go Gnarly Go

Miller is a more likeable Kesler, with less doucheness. And higher offensive ceiling.

Agreed. Is was a prick to the media. JT speaks plain, clear, and accountably. And the career highs speak for themselves. Love Kes for his service; haven’t come around yet on how he left and is now trying to return; but I respect his service haha

Somehow, I can't picture JT doing a semi-nude photo shoot.

Expect a very tense battle tomorrow with the series on the line.  Silov and the D will need to be at their very best as I expect the Oilers to throw everything at the net.  If the Canucks can also squeeze a goal from someone who has had a quiet "offensive" playoffs, the better the chance.  Pius Suter did it in the first round.

Maybe Hronek, Hogs or Myers with a seeing eye with ton of traffic in front - who knows.  Hopefully RT+coaches can pass on some of the experiences with attempting to close out a series in his pregame briefs. GCG

Some fun trash talk on a Facebook hockey group

Some typical Coiler fan yelling at Canucks fans for blaming refs and claiming it’s all been completely fair and the same to both teams. Just playoff hockey blah blah blah

I say…

if you believe the officiating and discipline fields in this series have been anywhere close to even, it’s you who has rose coloured specs man.

I get that it’s the playoffs and all teams play harder and get away with a ton and it’s part of what many of us love about the tournament and the game itself

And I hate it when ppl pin losses on the refs. Suck it up and fight through it

But I challenge you to show us comparables to the following to prove there’s been no league bias given to Vancouver’s opposition in this one

Quinn Hughes gets bloodied by a high stick and the ref doesn’t even bother to consult with his on ice crew to see if anyone saw it (major penalty averted)

Tyler Meyers is bloodied by a 2 handed crosscheck to the face but only the double minor for high sticking is called (major and a game and possibly a suspension or fine averted)

Soucy and Zadorov get suspension and game respectively (deserved) for retaliating after the final whistle.

Hyman gets nothing for identical crosscheck to Zadorov’s face in the same play (suspension averted)

Pettersson gets what most are calling the strangest penalty in SCPlayoff history for Charging without even moving from his position on the ice except to spin and jump to avoid a charging opponent (penalty averted AND given incorrectly in same play - not as fired up about this one as similar but less crazy blunders happen to all teams unfortunately but, again, show me a comparable)

God luck man. Enjoy game 6 if ya can 😉

As expected, he comes back with absolutely nothing then congratulates me for winning the internet lol

I can’t let that slide haha …

nice deflection sir!!

I don’t care about the internet or anyone else here. I just THOUGHT someone bellowing so loudly about there being no unfair treatment of another team would have the goods to back up a simply stated, clear and respectful argument

I’m just disappointed. Would much prefer an informed exchange over low hanging trash talk but hey, it’s your thread after all lol

So

Just admit it…

You can’t name a single comparable because there are none and yet the Nux are still owning the series, battling like warriors and destroying the opposition despite the biased treatment the NHL golden boy and co are being given as usual

Luckily I hear there’s no shortage of free tee times in Deadmonton for Sunday morning 😉

Maybe if the divemaster spots ol’ Leon a stroke or two he won’t walk in the summer

Oh well, you’ll always be among the best in the regular season

Maybe chicken noodle will come back n show he’s learned how to stop pucks again 🤔

In all seriousness though, have fun tomorrow night. I hope it’s another great game. Great time of year to be a Canadian hockey fan 😎

TLDR;

I can be a real ass when I wanna be

There was also the spear to the nads (clearly intentional) - no call, no review.

I think McDavid looks tired, probably from being overplayed.

And from being ground into oblivion by Miller-Suter-Boeser. Miller's goal overshadowed what a tremendous job he did neutralizing McDavid.

(And Miller looked gased, too--like he could barely raise his arms to celebrate that gwg)

I wouldn't want a rash decision. When we get to the next round; Could back-up I think.

Agreed, ride Silovs to the end of the series. Silly-Putty is playing well and has earned his spot for sure. No need to insert Demko if Silovs can be reasonably relied upon to allow no more that 2 goals tomorrow or less. That will give the Canucks a great chance to win thus don't need to risk bumping Demko's timetable.

GO CANUCKS GO!

Why back up if he is healthy?

Not wise to throw him in net too fast. He’s played like one or two games in the last 2 months or so. He needs time to get up to speed. Multiple full practices and time between to recharge and assess.

It would be a huge mistake to put him in net this soon with the entire season on the line. Look for him early in possible next round when a loss , although not desirable , would not be season ending or not possible to recover from.

Lastly, Silov’s shown no signs of breakdown or weariness. Ride him a while yet.
