You are not wrong. The article referenced below appeared just before last training camp and goes a long way towards explaining why players wear down as the season draws to a close. It's worth your time. I would think the Canucks have a tougher time than the eastern and Central teams simply because of the hours they spend sitting on aircraft rather than working out.

Holy shit, that's rather amazing. Is that for real?

Yes. You can Google "Skinny fat" and find that as the season progresses, players tend to lose muscle mass because the demands of playing, travel and practicing are completely unlike off-seasons where guys are working out pretty much every day in one way or another. In a way, off season is like making a whole bunch of deposits in the bank knowing you'll be spending that conditioning in the blur of the regular season.

I hope that the players understand what Tocchet means about coming into camp in the best shape of your life.

I feel like there was some lack of conditioning from certain players as the season went on. That’s part of the learning curve of becoming a top team though.

Now they understand the marathon that it takes to make it that far. Hopefully every player is hard at work at their cardio and conditioning already.

Paul Maurice praised his team's conditioning and how they can wear down thier opponents.

QH, EP, Hronek need to all take note.

Considering all 3 haven't played playoff hockey much, they now have a taste of what needs to be done to get to the finals. And probably means alot of work in offseason

Travel takes a toll too. 6 game series v Nashville was the longest distance of all the series.  It wasn't like in the bubble.

Rangers out of gas, with no gas, not going far
