Generalizing fanbases just reeks of being desperate for attention. He's a giant dbag, but he is pretty accurate with his insider info. He does love to pander to the fans if whatever podcast he's on at that particular time though You're right though, he's going to lose the trust of the people he relies on for info if he's just going to go for the sensationalist crap.
NewbieCanuckFan
6 minutes ago, PureQuickness said: I don't like how Seravalli wrote his piece, but there's some truth in this - barely. If he's judging the fanbase as a whole based on the online personalities of Reddit/CDC, etc, one will have a very skewed perception of the city. It's not accurate. There are LOTS of Canuck fans that are equally die-hard but they don't feel they need to post about their thoughts, so they are not accurately represented. And when it comes to discussions about hockey, or about life in general, I honestly don't think Vancouver people are "douchier" than Edmonton fans. Look, there's always going to be rabid fans that make ANY fanbase look bad. Vancouver has the distinction of rioting after two playoffs in two different years. Whether this is a "Surrey problem" or not, Vancouver does have its issues with entitlement (not unlike Toronto). That said, the post he made is highly inappropriate and unprofessional, given his reputation as a media insider, despite the fact that I'm trying to see things his way.

As a fan of hockey and the NHL, I love the Canucks, my favorite team since I realized they existed in the early eighties. The team is golden to me.
Popular Post rychicken
Another great example of why i boycott 90% of the "sports media" Grumpy old man alert - bring back Clancy Loranger, Jim Taylor, Archie McDonald etal - didn't always agree with them, but they did employ journalism in their work 4 1

Canucks have a great fan base, and I just wonder how many teams have fans so invested as Canucks fans. The Canucks made a weird decision to close down their fan web page, but within days the fans themselves (thank you @Ribs) to reopen their own. Just because fans don't roll around in the streets and stink of pee/vomit doesn't make them less invested than the Oilers. They had 1st OA so many times they had to change the system, and when they finally got a generational talent, they behaved as if they had been rolling since the 80's... Canucks sucked for more than a decade, and they still filled their barn... Maybe I wrong or am missing something here, but I think that kind of garbage journalism is unwarranted and belongs in the gutters... What an arse.... PS. I rarely ever start topics, so.... I could be misremembering, but wasn't Seravelli the one who reported on Mikheyev's knee injury last year? The same story that concluded with Doerrie being fired due to her leaking stuff to the media?

Popular Post KoreanHockeyFan
FYI... this is the same guy that kept pushing the rumour that Petey was going to get $12.5 million AAV on his extension. also... this is the same guy that keeps claiming that Hronek is going to get over $8 million per. If you're worried about the Canucks cap situation, now you know who to point to when you're wondering where all the fear-mongering is coming from. 2 1 1 1

I've never seen ONE example of that, ever. Mostly we complain about the cost of living here and how we're struggling to make it. Albertans are harder workers? Says a guy who sits on his ass and makes crap up for a living? How would he know what hard work is? My father is fisherman....tell me that isn't hard work, Frank. He's almost lost his life in a shipwreck that sank the boat and busted his leg up into fragments. Was in the water and his crew dragged him onto the little lifeboat and paddled him to shore where an ambulance took him away. My Mom worked on the dock that he unloaded his fish at....she was there 16 hours a day for 10 days straight when she collapsed. F off, Frank. You have no idea what we're about here. Maybe the crap he uses on his hair is seeping in to his brain. How is this hockey journalism....sounds like a big old suck up to Edmonton job. Ron McLean style. Clown. That's exactly it... RupertKBD
Take it FWIW, but we have one guy in our IT department who's an Oiler fan.... kilgore
From the Urban Dictionary: Douche someone who is more than a jerk, tends to think he's top notch, does stuff that is pretty brainless, thinks he is so much better than he really is, and is normally pretty good at ticking people off in an immature way. Sell.the.team
Canucks fans are pretty toxic.... Nucks twitter is a cesspool. That said, Serivalli is a goof as well. HNIC did us dirty this year with Craig Simpson on color. Not only is he awful at his job, he is a major Oilers homer. Even the Edmonton fans hate him despite this, as he is brutal to listen to. Why they couldn't have just had two separate broadcasts for each fanbase is beyond me. Edited May 27 by Sell.the.team

GrammaInTheTub
Just putting this out there for all of us to consider next time we can sense clear click bait… Perhaps the initial poster or in the first few replies or something - perhaps we copy/paste the article so that each member doesn’t have to give the page a hit. I won’t be doing that with this post because I don’t want to give the click and I get the rub of his crappy non-news piece.
