Also, Waddell wanted to change the coaching. And ownership nixed it. Hence why they parted ways. I wouldn't say Necas is "too hyped." This is like saying "why go after Pesce, if Carolina doesn't want him why would we?" There was a time nobody wanted Joshua, and we turned him into something. Top pairing RD are probably the most valuable position and hardest to get. Hronek is that… Necas is probably a 2nd line guy and that just isn’t as valuable. Petey has always been very selective, but has been able to maintain that high shooting percentage. But we've seen with a natural shooter like Kuzy it creates too much for teams to manage. The reason Carolina is looking to move him is the same reason why the Canucks would even consider moving Hronek... too much cap, not enough cap space. Carolina didn’t want to pay Trochek the 5.6 mill on a longterm deal he got and put up 64 and 77 points in back to back years with the Rangers with great FO numbers. Necas is good and maybe the contract demands are enough for them to bow out of because they’re already paying Svech and hope to re-sign Guentzel. It's why I love Lindholm. But the issue is not every center can play wing. It feels like Necas is one of those players. I am a proponent of adding him myself. Just food for though. One year of Hronek and facing an arbitration case with an unknown cap number until later in the summer which would handcuff Allvin from making all his other moves… and risk damaging the prospects for next season. I'm a huge fan of Aho, Svechnikov, Jarvis and Necas and would love to see Necas on Petey's wing. He can absolutely fly and doesn't shy away from contact. He and Petey on one line and JT and Brock on the other in the top 6 would be a huge upgrade.
