I think this is evidence to the opposite. I can't stand McDavid either, but I think he did the right thing, and I would have been absolutely shocked to see him come out and accept it.

Jumping in to this convo. I agree. I saw him whine and dive all playoffs, too, but this doesn't *necessarily* add to that. We can't claim to know his reasons, but like with the Clarence Campbell trophy, he may have simply not wanted to touch it cause it's not the one he wanted.

He very well may have been in there consoling his team, rather than accepting a trophy for an individual.

What I really hope is the NHL can now pivot away from McSulky. I'm so f'n sick of seeing him as the so-called face of the league, "best" player, yap.

There's a lot of other exciting players to focus on, maybe the NHL can get off the simplistic and lazy marketing idea that there's just one person to focus on.

Uh....there were probably more Oiler fans there than Panther fans. He snubbed those fans who traveled to support him and his team. Sorry, no.

including his OWN parents

He is the most skilled player no doubt...but best? No. I'd take Barkov over him and a handful of others. Cale Makar and Mac over on the Avs for instance.

I wonder if McDiver will show up to next years all-star game, I hear there's going to be a new "empty net challenge".

A new trophy is being initiated. Given to the player who initiates “ group hug “ I’m sure his a given.

Posters saying he wouldn’t accept his trophy because of his teammates. Raises a good question. What does he think of his teammates?  Since there’s really only five top tier players on the team. He probly doesn’t have a whole lot of respect for the players who played way above their ceiling. Feeling like they’ve held him back. Playing him and draisitl into the ground kind of says it all

Miller any day of the week over Mcdavid. Miller has good character.

I'm very happy that our team prevented EDM from home ice advantage, we may have cost them the cup.

Apperantly as per mark Spector the Canucks are responsible for motivating them out their funk when we mopped the floor with them. So the least the nux can do is return the favour by motivating the team to do it again.
